In a Washington riven by discord, it can seem like a throwback to a gentler time.

He added that Republicans, in thrall to “big oil”, have spent the past two decades opposing the very measures that would have made America less dependent on foreign oil and fossil fuels in general. Green technology would have shielded the US from the effects of the Ukraine crisis on global markets.

So you gosh darn conservatives quit whining and go out and buy a $70,000 Tesla.

“Green technology would have shielded the US from the effects of the Ukraine crisis on global markets.” Yeah, at the cost of a more serious crises in years to come.

What the lunatic Left is really saying is that if more people, especially white conservatives, would simply die, there would be less demand for fossil fuels of all sorts. Prices would really come down.

The problem is that support of electric vehicles requires something more than pretty words. First, you have to have the electricity generation capability to "fuel" all those plug-in cars and their massive battery packs. Second, you need to upgrade the electric transmission infrastructure to move that electricity from the generators to the consuming cars. Third, you need the local infrastructure to support the increase in electricity usage in multi-family communities like apartment and condo complexes.

In my current lease, I'm not allowed to plug in an electric vehicle anywhere on the property. That means I'm limited to a hybrid, which means fossil fuel. Simpler is just to go with the ICE vehicle I have.

The other part of the Left's vision is to increase the population density into cities. Where will those precious solar panels and windmills find a toehold? In sufficient quantity to supply the increased electrical demand? Oh, that's right, eliminate private autos and push bikes and walking. What do we carry our groceries in? Wheelbarrows?

And how do you handle the problem of disabled? Just let then dry up and blow away? Force them into retirement homes? Nursing homes? And remember Zero Population Growth -- who takes care of the elderly who listened to that pitch?

Brandon’s campaign rested on “phasing out” fossil fuels. As conservatives already knew, there is no viable alternative. Leftists sell solar, wind and electric vehicles. Experience says that these alternatives all have fatal flaws. Brandon never let reality overrule optics though, so his first acts as president were to curtail America’s petroleum supply.

And now that’s a problem? Gee, I wonder how that happened?

Most Communists like reporters don’t understand supply and demand. They only understand demand.

Indeed. Just think how many might be like us and not be able to buy even a 10-yr old car. Fortunately, the man who lives with me is able to repair 10 yr old cars.

We live a good 20 miles from the nearest gas station, I wonder what we will do when the whole story changes...We will have to go to an old folks home where some one else will have to clean us up and put the diapers where they belong. Gads!

These media dopes overlook a big factor in the Ukraine debacle and Europe’s reliance on Russian gas: Natural gas is considered a “green” energy source in Germany.

Just read that again and realize that western countries have been governed by morons for decades.

Take a look at what our Republicans have been colluding with Democrats to do under the cover of Ukraine war:

Some of the provisions of the spending bill include:

Allows DHS to Double the number of H-2B visas issued in FY2022.
Reauthorizes the EB-5 investor visa, which allows foreign nationals to buy green cards, a program plagued by fraud since its creation in 1990.
Rescinds a Trump-era program that set aside H-1B fees to provide job training to American workers.
Offers taxpayer-funded lawyers for illegal aliens seeking U.S. residence under the Violence Against Women Act.
The bill preserves nearly $2 billion for border barrier construction, despite Biden’s hopes that the money would be reclaimed. Additionally, funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement would rise by 7% despite the President’s hopes to cut the department by more than $50 million.

The bill also includes a $240 million infusion of cash to ICE and a $1 billion infusion to Customs and Border Protection to help deal with the border surge caused by President Biden’s open-border policies.

While these investments appear like a move in the right direction, it would still be up to the President’s administration to appropriately use the money to deal with the meltdown of interior enforcement and border security and actually strengthen the nation’s immigration enforcement as a whole.

Democrat congressional negotiators have already announced that they prevented any of the funds set aside for immigration enforcement from being used to hire more enforcement personnel and that they did not raise the number of desperately needed ICE detention beds.

Putin is the one that sets US energy policy and is the leader of the free world. It’s Putins fault so Biden just has to let Putin be the president of the United States.
Obama tried the same stupid excuse. “It’s Bushes fault and I’m too stupid and weak to fix it.”

So, why are energy prices so high in Europe?

Are they in thrall to "big oil" too?

While the Marie Antoinette’s of the Left are proclaiming “let them buy Teslas” to poor and even middle class people being squeezed by the soaring price of gas and everything else, the morons haven’t even bothered to look around and see where the Lithium in the batteries they use comes from.

Oh.
