We should have known better. I should have known better. What was billed as the “secure” alternative to Google’s data-siphoning search engine has turned out to be no better at belaying the leftist barrage of downvoting unacceptable speech. What good is valuing my privacy if you don’t value my free speech or my access to all viewpoints?
Joining countless other companies at destroying lives and freedom, DuckDuckGo announced via their CEO’s Twitter feed that the company would begin engaging in, effective immediately, the censorship of articles or sites that promote – gasp! – skepticism at the corporate media’s approved narrative.
“Like so many others I am sickened by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the gigantic humanitarian crisis it continues to create. #StandWithUkraine?
At DuckDuckGo, we’ve been rolling out search updates that down-rank sites associated with Russian disinformation.”

“Brave might be better.”
I tried Brave a couple of times, but it chokes my mac so that I have to power down to restart.
A red flag for me was when I recently started seeing these DuckDuckGo TV ads with this very pretentious, smug-sounding woman’s voice. It sounded like an appeal to leftists.
startpage.com has the same bendfits as DuckDuckGo and has not at least ye outed itself as woke. It is the one I use.
I originally switched to DDG because they were supposed to protect your searches. But if they have this attitude towards censorship, then there is no way that any of your searches are protected either. Bye bye cuck-cuck-go.
Switched to Qwant
I’m thinking that most of the Ukrainian loving, Putin hating, MSM robo-posting Freepers would have no problem with this rule and probably wish a similar edict would be implemented here.
Good bye DDG. I can discern truth from fiction myself, I don't need you to do that for me. I also don't appreciate you thinking I'm stupid enough to need your protection from "Russian disinformation."
You're outta here.
I changed my review of DDG browser app in the app store. I said that because DDG was down-ranking disinformation, I was down-ranking them from 5 stars to 1 star :)
The corporations know who the new masters are.
Like the old ones, Democrats.
Farewell duck

Gawd I’m getting tired of this. Just when you think find a good search engine, they go all PC.
Brave is a browser.
My multi-year usage and recommending of DDG just ceased.
Crash and burn, statist toadies.
I’ve been noticing for a while now, that results are limited and repetitive; and that it ignores quotation marks in searches, bombarding with unrelated ‘results’.
Thanks. I use their browser but didn’t know about the search engine.
