Yahoo News GOP Rep. Cawthorn calls Zelensky ‘a thug,’ says Ukraine is pushing ‘woke ideologies’ Christopher Wilson Christopher Wilson·Senior Writer Thu, March 10, 2022, 1:51 PM EST Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., called Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky a "thug" at a campaign event over the weekend.

"Remember that Zelensky is a thug," Cawthorn said in a video obtained by WRAL. "Remember that the Ukrainian government is incredibly corrupt and is incredibly evil and has been pushing woke ideologies."

The 26-year-old Cawthorn’s statement is a deviation from mainstream Republican support of Zelensky and the Ukrainian people as they defend themselves against the Russian invasion, but it echoes other comments made at the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.

Couple of things.

Thing one:

This and other mouth problems places Cawthorn in the same boat as MTG.

Strong willed not afraid to speak their minds and lacking decorum.

Which means, add him to the list with MTG that will Never get a Bill passed, never be able to speak in his district without protestors or drama, and never be asked to join a committee or sign on to a Bill.

So, effectively,USELESS, except for posting on Twittter.

Thing Two:

Zelenskyy is ONE man in a Country with 44 million that are right now being bombed and shot at.

No matter how one feels about Zelenskyy, 44 million people are losing their lives and homes who are innocent.

If you say, “Well, they elected Zelenskyy.”

Ok, fine, let’s bomb your home and kill your family because of Biden.

But the war isn’t truly about Russia being honorable and ridding the country of a few corrupt politicians now is it?

Absolutely. Moving NATO to Russia’s border is a bad idea. I can understand the Baltic Republics - they would stand no chance against Russia, and it is already done. But moving NATO further East anywhere else is stupidly provocative.

NATO should have been dissolved 30 years ago.

In my opinion NATO should have been replaced when the Soviet Union fell with two or maybe three alliances.
A true North Atlamtic alliance made of the North Atlantic nations primarily US, UK, & Canada. (Iceland but who cares!), Netherlands, etc. A Euorpean Alliance - France, Germany, Poland, Denmark, BENLUX countries. A Baltic Central Euorpean Aliance - Germany, the Scandanavian countries, Poland, and Finland. Countries can belong to multiple alliances or just one or not any. If the Central European Aliance etc. want to go adventuring in the Balkans that’s their business not ours. We’ll sell them arms maybe, but they pay their own defense, their own way. In alliances where countries are not a members they can be “friendly” observers.

I live in Cawthorn’s district. The local press hates him with a passion and constantly prints the most inane drivel attempting to smear him.

From today:

Madison Cawthorn charged with driving with revoked license for 2nd time; court dates set

Who cares. In war, there is really only one rule - DO NOT LOSE! My grandfather told me that many years ago and he served in Patton’s Third Army.

No one really wants Finland.
If Russia wanted Finland, they could have had the whole kit and kaboodle in 1939-1940.

Actually, the Finns want Finland, and they've never been shy about it. The Soviets also wanted Finland, which is why they invaded. But after losing something over 100,000 troops and a couple thousand armored vehicles in a matter of months, Stalin decided he wanted Finland less than he thought. The Finns still wanted it, and got to keep most of it, although they had to give Stalin his pound of flesh to get an agreement to end the fighting.

Guess the world will see who really wants Ukraine...

Oh look, we got an expert on Ukrainian politics over here who can sum things up in a few sentences with discombobulated analogies.

You do not know the Ukraine - a country where you cannot lead without being a Thug. This is a country where the opposition ends up in jail or dead. In fact, it is pretty damn similar to Russia. This is Iran vs. Iraq.

This is so patently false. Just fess up. Shock and Awe was a terror campaign. Effective , but an instrument to terrify an invaded populace.

Actually, I believe the Bush Doctrine was the right thing to do. I believe that Saddam Hussein was giving safe harbor to terrorists (why was there an airplane fuselage in the northern part of the country, was it used for hijack training)?

I believe that the doctrine of "fight them over there as a military action instead of fighting them over here as a police action" was the right thing to do. We know how our left-wing politicians treated capture terrorists, with a lawyer actually passing notes to a prisoner.

I do not believe that our troops were terrorizing the Iraqi people, I believe Hussein's Fedayeen Saddam was terrorizing people, wearing masks and pulling people off the streets for torture and rape. I believe that Hussein's sons were terrorizing people. I believe Hussein had chemical WMD (Bob Arnott reported on toxic water in the Euphrates River until he was pulled), but they were hidden and secreted away to Syria after we liberated the country from Hussein. I do not believe the "dual use" excuse when there was little evidence of a burgeoning industry.

Was Hussein directly involved in 9/11? Probably not. Did he support them, probably so, with a safe haven for training and supply. He already invaded Kuwait once for their oil fields.

Petro Oleksiyovych Poroshenko is a Ukrainian businessman and politician who served as the fifth president of Ukraine from 2014 to 2019.

Also, Poroshenko was the corrupt pres. who fired Shokin, the prosecutor investigating Hunter / Burisma, after Biden threatened to withhold the aid package.

My granddaughter taught there for three months.

After school hours, she never ventured far from the hotel.

I find them quite amusing, and I do like to bait them.
