The national average price of gas soared to a record high for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday.
Increasing six cents overnight, the price of gas is now $4.318, a 59-cent increase from last week. Thursday’s record-setting price is the fourth consecutive day that prices have reached an all-time high.
Gas prices rose about one dollar before the run-up to the Ukrainian war and subsequently 75 cents since the invasion of Ukraine. But the White House has blamed the massive price hike only on the war, dubbing it “Putin’s price hike.” The White House has also claimed that the oil industry has 9,000 private oil fields on which to drill for oil.
The establishment media have done their best to protect the president, suggesting Americans are willing to pay massive gas prices to defend a non-NATO ally. They have also adopted Biden’s strategy of blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for Americans’ pain at the pump.
Meanwhile, Biden has refused to open drilling on federal lands, and he shut down the Keystone Pipeline on day one of his presidency. He maintains that his domestic war on American energy has had no impact on rising gas prices.

Luckily I had 70 cents a gallon off from my grocery store chain yesterday. Guess I’ll have to keep that up.

...we are going to go back to the miserable 1970s with long gas lines, higher prices, etc..... and we will be “topping off” our gas tanks more and more...got gas yesterday MORNING at our local groc. store gas station....$3.89 a gallon....by the time we had SUPPER, it had risen to $3.99 a gallon....no end in sight....

One of our DILs watched my wife, who is recovering from a hip replacement last week, while I did errands and bought groceries at about 10~11 am yesterday.
The semi local small store is owned by a big chain was basically empty of customers. I was able to place orders at the deli, produce section and meat market section without standing in line nor long waiting times.. Standing in lines inside the store at those areas is usually SOP!
When I was ready to checkout, there were no customers in line besides me. The self checkout
Line had a few customers with a few items.
I asked the checker, “Where are all of the customers?”
Her reply was simple, “They can only afford gas this week!”
A very large % of the customers in this store are retired or semi retired.
Our county/city and state had some of the highest gas prices in the nation, over the weekend. The gas prices were increasing daily and hourly at some stations after the weekend.

Or do exit polling with exiting customers, re the your upcoming elections in these parking lots.
Brandon, you and your VP hoe can come out and interview and poll real customers leaving a gas station or grocery store!

Count yourself lucky. Mine was $4.25 without the discount from the grocery store. I remember those gas lines, too. My family was struggling to survive. There wasn’t one trip of errands that wasn’t mapped out ahead of time so that there was any waste of gas. No doubling back if something was forgotten. It was added to the list for the next time around. We did without A LOT. Luckily we managed. Nothing like adversity to keep a family together.
