Former Attorney General William Barr claims in a new book that he yelled at his boss, then-President Donald Trump over a discussion regarding Hunter Biden shortly before the November 2020 election.
“In his upcoming book, ‘One Damn Thing After Another,’ Barr recalled that in October 2020, Trump called soon after a Newsmax segment on Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Fox News reported Wednesday.
“Reports about the computer revolved around emails that appeared to connect Joe Biden to his son’s business dealings when the elder Biden was vice president,” the report continued.
“You know this stuff from Hunter Biden’s laptop?” Trump asked Barr, the book says.
“Mr. President, I can’t talk about that, and I am not going to,” Barr says he responded “sharply.”
Hunter Biden was reportedly already under federal investigation at the time for various allegations including potential tax issues. Barr wrote in his book that Trump didn’t appreciate his tone.
“You know, if that was one of my kids,” Trump began before Barr cut him off quickly.
“Dammit, Mr. President, I am not going to talk to you about Hunter Biden. Period!” Barr fired back, in a raised voice.
After a brief silence, Trump got off the phone; Barr wrote that his chief of staff, Will Levi, who was in the room during the call, was shocked.
“You yelled at the President?” Levi asked, with Barr nodding in confirmation, the book claims.

Rotten Barrstard
Correct. He also knew Hillary personally as they ran in same circles. He knew who she really was and that she was a very bad egg.
Except this was not a political matter. This was a law enforcement matter - one that was of the highest magnitude since it directly involved corruption at the highest levels of government and directly affected US foreign policy. That's what you need to learn.
Do you think for one nanosecond that say, Eric Holder would have refused to answer to Obama about such an investigation....in addition to stonewalling said investigation? The AG answers directly to the president. The president is his boss - period. Unless the President issues an order that is illegal (and this clearly was not), then the AG must obey that order. If he doesn't, he needs to be fired on the spot.
Sadly, that sums it up. I’m not sure I see a way out of this.
He chose not to prosecute Hunter Biden. Not choosing to do this was not something he had discretion over. Barr had a duty to initiate and pursue prosecution in this.
The AG is not a political advisory role. The role is laid out in manuals.
The AG, like all Cabinet Officers has to have jurisdiction over matters they are asked to execute. They have discretion over prioritization. They do not have the right to ignore matters that are squarely in their scope of of duty.
And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Without the requirement for Senate confirmation, we probably would have ended up with that Special Olympian Michael Cohen as the U.S. Attorney General in January 2017.
didn’t have a college degree....
What part of #51 do you not understand?
Only chose the very best? You mean like Omorosa? Trump made some me truly terrible hires.
The entire Biden family has all the characteristics of a set of dupes who have been put in place as U.S. intelligence assets.
Ha. Even you don’t believe that. Maybe Guiliani or one of Trumps other lawyers or someone else recommended. You can’t honestly think Barr did a good job for the citizens, do you (or Sessions, and I liked Sessions prior)?
Your 51 does resolve to your 33. Thats not my problem.
I still wonder if Obama knew about any of their dealings as Hunter and Joe flew all over the world on AF2. If he didn’t, he was incompetent, if he did then it makes me think he played, maybe still does, a part in the grift.
Barr needs to be prosecuted!
Barr never pursued a prosecution of Hunter Biden even though by law he was obligated to have his department do so.
Time left in office is not an excuse. Barr had dozens of staff members who were permanent government hires. He was obligated to see the investigation of Hunter Biden was underway and tracking, that is all.
The government employees left in place after and during the (illegitimate) incoming Biden administrators, had a duty to continue the investigation of Hunter. Biden had no legal authority to quash such investigations, if there were any. Government employees who would be ordered to stand down would have whistle-blower protections to resort to.
“Barr simply chose not to use his office publicly to pursue political ends.”
This is an insane statement.
First, Barr let Mueller (his friend, their wives went to church together) proceed even though he knew there was no evidence and Mueller was in late-term dementia. That is ignoring the fact everyone on Mueller’s team was a democrat witch hunter.
Barr allowed the dossier to be pumped in the intelligence agencies and the spying on the Trump Campaign. Did not try to stop the coup attempt.
Ignored both Hunter’s and Clinton’s lawbreaking.
Ignored the voter fraud and allowed the election to be stolen.
He is nothing but a political animal that is/was willing to destroy the country by playing for the Democrat team. All he did was pursue or ignore political ends.
He and his ilk make this country a banana republic.
What a piece of crap - and now the Libtards who hated him, now love him.
Barr has the integrity of a, of a, Biden...
Neither did Harry Truman. For what that's worth.
Trumps biggest mistake was not realizing EVERYBODY in DC is corrupt, EVERYONE. He was naive though and who can blame him? 28 years of the Bush/Clinton/Obama criminal cabals did more damage than anyone realized.
What Trump should have done is picked people completely outside the swamp, I was hoping he would pick Giuliani as AG but I heard Giuliani didn’t want it, but wow if he did it would have been a completely different story. First off he absolutely would have prosecuted the Queen Bitch Hillary who he cannot stand. It has driven Rudy nuts for decades how the Queen Bitch constantly skirts justice. This is a guy who brought down the Mafia, he would have been perfect to clean the swamp, the indictments would have been endless
I’m not needing to learn that, as I described it previously in #51.
Yes, it was a law enforcement matter that Barr was, according to his oath, sworn as a duty to act on.
