No, Authoritarians Are NOT Suddenly Dropping Covid Mandates and Restrictions Over Polling
America First Report ^ | March 5, 2022 | JD Rucker

The prevailing narrative surrounding the sudden shift away from face mask and vaccine mandates by city and state governments is that they started reading the polls. This is absolutely not true.

“Somebody’s been reading the polls.”

The statement on a social media post from a popular user highlighting the lifting of face mask mandates across the country struck me as odd. The polls have nothing to do with why politicians, mostly Democrats, are suddenly dropping face mask and vaccine mandates across the country. I’ll explain the real reason behind the hasty — albeit temporary — retreat from authoritarianism in a moment, but first let’s debunk the common notion that the restrictions were lifted to help Democrats in the midterm elections.

Americans have short memories. This is why the two-month period before election day and the three-week period before early voting have much more of an impact on general election results than all the rest of the time combined. Lifting face mask mandates in schools a couple of months before the end of the school year will create less electoral goodwill than announcing in the summer ahead of the fall semester.

But it’s not just schools. You’ll notice that mandates have been lifted on local businesses such as bars and restaurants as well. If this was being done because of polling, then it would have been done months ago.

The most compelling evidence that debunks the notion that they’re lifting restrictions over polling in an election year is that those who are not up for reelection are lifting restrictions as well. Mayor Eric Adams in New York City has barely been in office. He even noted a month ago that lifting mandates was not being considered, yet suddenly he’s promoting freedom.

They’re being shifted to pro-war and free speech intolerance mandates.

Baloney. Adams is lifting the mandates because: (1) NYC is surrounded by suburban areas in swing House districts where the Democrats in those seats don’t want to lose in November, and (2) he’s desperately trying to get NYC-based businesses to bring their workers back into the office to keep the city’s commercial real estate market from collapsing.

Doesn’t matter if they’re up for reelection or not. ANY democrat is in trouble, new or used.

A bit further down this article, the writer explains:

This is the same basic process used in politics to overcome the last bit of opposition to a policy. They give a “victory” to the opposition, which throws them off balance. Then, they slam them with a worse version of the policy when a triggering event happens.

In the case of the sudden shift away from the mandates, we can expect there to be a “scary” new variant of Covid that starts spiking sometime in the future, probably right before the two-month window ahead of election day that I referenced above.

Lest we forget, Democrats benefit from MORE restrictions on Election Day, not less. It's ludicrous to think they are pulling down the mandates and restrictions because they're listening to the science or acknowledging freedom. The only thing authoritarians hate more than actual science is freedom for the people. No, this is all being done by design for the sake of The Great Reset and the expansion of their powers in the near future.”

Yeah, nothing to do with politics, it’s all about the science. So how come the biggest TV star of the last two years, Dr. I AM SCIENCE Fauci, has completely disappeared from TV land? Shouldn’t we be hearing from him about how the science has miraculously changed, ever since the Canadian trucker protests put the fear of God into the Godless Globalists?

Science has proven that the effectiveness of masks and vaxes are inversely related to the number of days until the next election.

My Co-workers who used to live in NYC have moved out - some to Connecticut, some to Florida and one to Montana - some say they will never set foot in NYC ever again - not because of Covid, but because of the Crime.

They will fire up the Scamdemic Machine when Fall comes around. They need their shady election schemes in place to try to hold onto Congress.

NYC now has RCV along with the RCV-enabled voting machines.

With those two things in place, elections no longer matter in Gotham.

he’s desperately trying to get NYC-based businesses to bring their workers back into the office to keep the city’s commercial real estate market from collapsing.

Fat chance of that. If you can perform your job in your jammies without having to dress up and commute for an hour into town, you're going to do it.

Similarly, if your employer's company can do well without having to pay rent on a costly building so his or her employees can sit at their desks and gossip around the water cooler, you bet he or she is going to ditch that building.

Hey, Eric Adams: It's a new world.

Re: 6

Thanks for doing the hard work for us and actually reading the article - and summarizing it for us.
A good article, and I agree with his suspicion/premise. My inclination was to assume that the removal of the onerous mandates and shutdowns was due to polling, but the author of this article presents another more plausible, and sinister, scenario.

total bullshit ... many states begin dropping mask mandates over a year ago ... and most states dropped mandates well before any hint of a russkie-ukraine war ... the Dems were (and are) completely panicked over their polling on a large variety of issues, including mask mandates ...

in point of fact, the war “crisis” was invented AFTER the covid “crisis” passed to fill the crisis vacuum that remained after covid burned itself out ... after all, the Dems could no longer blame “covid” for their destruction of the U.S. economy and needed a new excuse ... the Failed Politician Playbook 101 specifies that it’s necessary to start a war if all other excuses have failed ...

There are two types of private sector employers that will require workers to go back to offices in NYC even if the jobs can be done from home:

1. Those that still have at least 2-3 years left on an exorbitantly expensive office lease. When those leases expire, most of the workers will be sent back home to work and the companies will downsize their NYC offices considerably.

2. Major investment banks that have underwritten huge commercial mortgages on buildings in Manhattan. Those banks have a serious conflict of interest: they will make their workers come back to NYC because they need them to keep the commercial tenants in those buildings (restaurants and retail stores) in business just so the landlords don’t default on their mortgages.
