~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: USCG Training Center Cape May, New Jersey United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May (TRACENCM) is the home of the Coast Guard enlisted corps and is the Coast Guard's only enlisted accession point and recruit training center, located in Cape May, New Jersey. Training Center Cape May is the 5th largest base in the Coast Guard and the sole accession point for the entire enlisted workforce. This is why the training center is considered the birthplace of the enlisted corps and Cape May County, the Coast Guard’s Hometown.

Recruit training is a 53-day program designed to transform America’s civilian volunteers into military members of the United States Coast Guard. Direct Entry Petty Officer Training is a specialized three-week training program created to produce Petty Officers who, on the basis of their civilian professions and/or prior military experience, will graduate as highly motivated and basically trained Coast Guard men and women. Howdy, PRO.
Did you have a good weekend?
It looks like you’re in a weather donut hole. Rain to the east and rain to the west with you in the dry middle.
Ugly, cold weekend here but today was glorious. The rest of the week looks even better.

Good evening, radu...hope your weather is drying up. No more need for an ark.
It’s making a feeble attemp to snow here.

Hey there, Kathy.
Yes, the rain has finally stopped for several days and sunshine is in order. It was a beautiful day today and the days will get progressively warmer.
Y’all really need a good dumping of snow this week since the Iditarod starts this weekend.

A Friendly Conversation
[Pray for me] that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. Ephesians 6:19
Catherine and I were good friends in high school. When we weren’t talking on the phone, we were passing notes in class to plan our next sleepover. Sometimes we rode horses together and partnered on school projects.
One Sunday afternoon, I started to think about Catherine. My pastor had spoken that morning about how to have eternal life, and I knew my friend didn’t believe the Bible’s teachings the way I did. I felt a burden to call her and explain how she could have a relationship with Jesus. I hesitated, though, because I was afraid she would reject what I said and distance herself from me.
I think this fear keeps a lot of us quiet. Even the apostle Paul had to ask people to pray that he would “fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel” (Ephesians 6:19). There’s no getting around the risk involved with sharing the good news, yet Paul said he was “an ambassador”—someone speaking on behalf of God (v. 20). We are too. If people reject our message, they’re also rejecting the One who sent the message. God experiences the sting along with us.
So what compels us to speak up? We care about people, like God does (2 Peter 3:9). That’s what led me to finally call Catherine. Amazingly, she didn’t shut me down. She listened. She asked questions. She asked Jesus to forgive her sin and decided to live for Him. The risk was worth the reward. — Jennifer Benson Schuldt
Whom might God want you to speak to on His behalf? What’s stopping you? What effect would prayer have on this situation?
Dear Father, give me the courage to reach out to people who don’t know You. Give me wisdom to know when and how to start conversations about You.

So much for AccuWeather being accurate. LOL Their radar shows no rain within miles of you but NOAA shows you’re getting rain and you’re under a flood advisory.
I hope you don’t end up as soupy as we are after a week of rain. It’s a mess here.
I don’t know when the museum will reopen. I know it won’t be until the end of April or the beginning of May. I got word from the Boss Man this evening to be up there tomorrow morning to spiff things up for the TV crew Wednesday. I can’t wait to see what they’ve done over the winter, bringing in some new items and such.

Prior service boot camp was a cake walk. 3 or 4 weeks went by in a flash. I had only been out of Army’s 11th Armored Cav for 6 months. Still very young but not quite so stupid.
