Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, claims victory against Russia

Ukraine claimed a major victory Sunday against invading Russian forces, saying its military had fought back and retaken full control of the nation’s second-largest city, Kharkiv, amid heavy warfare.

“Control over Kharkiv is completely ours!” regional Gov. Oleh Synyehubov crowed in a triumphant Facebook post.

They have to keep winning every day, because they are encircled, and are invaded every night.

Putin will just keep sending the conscripts in, until they run out of ammo. Even if he has to sacrifice 50,000 of them.

But if they can keep it up, and get resupply of tank killing missiles, there is a chance. In any event, facts on the ground will influence whatever settlement might be reached.

The conscripts are not reliable and terrified of ATGM. They run away when the first Russian vehicle in a column is hit rather than fight. Russia has some elite units but they are not enough.

There is a lot of gaslighting and lies on twitter. It’s the info war so you have to take everything with a grain of salt. Things like government statements are pretty straight forward, though.

The facts on the ground speak for themselves. Ukraine stands and modern weapons are pouring into the country. Their morale is high and their people support them. Putin has made the classic military blunder of going a bridge too far. He has lost.

I think it’s far more likely a propaganda effort by corrupt western media sources to build morale among financial backers of Ukraine - gotta keep the money stream coming in. This is almost as bad as the lie that this splendid little war is costing Putin 15 billion a day to carry out. I’ll bet it’s not. Or the lie that Putin has cancer because he “looks tired” so he wants to “ have a nuclear war” and go out with a bang.
