My precious wife Joy, my love since 1973, passed away suddenly yesterday at home.
She lost consciousness and couldn’t be revived by medics after 911.
I have no friends or relatives around but my sisters in law and others will arrive from other states for the funeral.
I loved Joy for so long I don’t know how I can face life without her.
Please pray for her to be in Heaven and please pray for me to cope.
Thank you.—F B
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word,
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.
Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings;
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.
Thou on my head in early youth didst smile,
And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee.
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

So kind of you to care. It means a lot to me.
It’s like being in a weird new world where I didn’t want to go but I cannot leave it go back and have Joy alive again.
One grief bookl said people start to say “we’ve suffered from having you gone for this time so why don’t you just come back to us now?” We know it doesn’t happen that way, of course.
There are a lot of sincere loving words and prayers from those who have read of your loss of Joy ( a favorite name of mine!)
They desperately want to comfort you!
....
Surrender your heart to our Heavenly Father......pour out your heart to Him....and you will find the most amazing comfort and peace .....
...Heaven awaits!.....Draw near to Him and he will draw near to you.
God Bless
My prayers are with you. Grief is a country like no other.
Rest yourself in the comforting heart of Jesus— who hears our prayers for you and Joy — until that time when you see her again.
Sorry for your loss of dear wife Joy.
Hope you are beginning to move again. Understand if not.
Sending you songs in case they help.
No reply necessary unless not liking songs.

Thank you for the song and the fact that you care enough to send me an email.
I know I have been silent here. I am having trouble doing a lot of things. Trying to get back on track including grief counseling group meetings at a hospice center.
God bless you and yours.

“We do not despair as do those who have no hope “
I look forward to meeting you and Joy!
God bless you and keep you.
My heart goes out to you during this time of grief and readjustment. I was reading in 1 Peter this morning. Chapter 3 verse 20 tells us that one of God’s many names is “The Divine Longsuffering.” Chapter 4 has a lot to say about how we can endure suffering -

Love like that is so beautiful that everyman stops and wonders if he shall ever have it. God bless you and yours.
Prayers of sympathy.
Many thanks.
