A key theme is world history and especially Russian history on the relation between Russia and Ukraine.
Putin's motivation is historically justified as a result of actions over the last century.
I like the thinking of Seth Frantzman...... he is a journalist and not a propagandist
I can't agree, but I also can't disagree because I have no dog in the fight.
I would advise everyone to watch the interview Greg Hunter did with Paul Craig Roberts. Everything we are being told about Russia and Ukraine is a LIE!!!
No Shooting War in Ukraine – Dr. Paul Craig Roberts

The key takeaway I get from Putin’s speech is this:
Wait, you weren’t kidding!! Joe Biden is actually President!?! Wow, in that case it’s party time. Find me some Vodka and get those two hookers that they think Trump partied with on the line. Oh yeah, and send Joe some ice cream.
Whatever power grab Putin orders, pales in comparison to the blatant, outrageous power grab made by democrats and RINO’s in the 2020 election.
The USA is occupied by an illegitimate communist Chinese puppet. Nothing going on in the world today is more evil and corrupt than what the deep state did to the real American president, Donald J Trump.
The Biden regime, the CIA, the FBI, the Defense Department are ALL ROTTEN TO THE CORE!!!!!!
.
It ‘is’ relevant, and accurate.
Thanks for posting!
Amen, amen , amen
And yet, Americans cower in the center of the arena and allow themselves to be eaten by the lions.
Arguing that past Russian enslavement of nations gives Russia the right to enslave those nations again is monstrously amoral. Ukrainians don't want to be part of Russia.
You're also showing an ignorance of European history: Every modern state, especially in Europe, has had centuries of changing borders, and the emotional tug of nationalism can lead to demands, ultimatums and often war for territory, power and influence.
Tucker’s intro last night hit on this. What has Putin ever done to you, he asked? Did he make you take an injection to keep your job, try turn your kids into trannies, etc.
Trump called Putin’s move ‘genius’ in an interview yesterday, and said we should do the same at our southern border. I’m not going that far but there is some history if NATO excursion like Kosovo as well.
Empires come and go. The Soviet/Russian Empire lost the Cold War and imploded. Putin wants to give the illusion he is going to rebuild the empire.
As China grows exponentially with its economy, the Russians fade with their economy.
I didn’t make the speech. Putin did
You have gullibly fallen into the Biden Media Propaganda trap. The areas in question are no longer Ukraine and the article says that they have been separate since 2014.
“Every modern state, especially in Europe, has had centuries of changing borders, and the emotional tug of nationalism can lead to demands, ultimatums and often war for territory, power and influence.”
I remember one of my professors in college. Very smart guy, whose classes were not only educational, but entertaining, as well. One of his more pithy observations was: “When dealing with European history, throw away the maps, because they changed every twenty years or so, and they will drive you nuts.”
Chinese exponential growth has for the present ceased and in fact reversed.
Strangely believe it but China under Xi is reverting to the government control of business and industry and eliminating private and foreign ventures. That mean business by control of the CCP which means the growth of the CCP oligarch class that destroyed the Russian economy
I don’t think the CCP has the wherewith all to make business and the economy grow
The Communist USSR died in 1991, but the anti-USSR NATO did not die with it. Instead, NATO has moved right to Russia's borders.
I totally understand why the countries that suffered under Soviet Communist oppression would want to join NATO, modern Russia also has valid security concerns that cannot be dismissed or ignored.
Please study this map for context.
In a peculiar way Russia stands against the spread of Communism as NATO and the US promote its expansion.
Putin is a lot of things, a Communist is not one of them.
China has grown at extraordinary growth rates. It just barely trails the US GDP. Sure it is slowing down, but it has achieved a huge economy and will surpass the US at some point.
Russian GDP is that of Spain. They will not be a threat but more of a nuisance.
Alexandr Dugin, Putin’s mentor for decades, outlined this action in his books “Eurasianism - An Introduction to Neo-Eurasianism”, and the 4th Political Theory”. Also, another timely read is: “A Strategic Meltdown Over Ukraine Could Doom Taiwan”
