President Joe Biden and his deputies at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have dropped nearly all border protections for U.S. graduates, allowing a mass rush of Indian graduates to grab jobs from Fortune 500 companies, experts and foreign workers say.
“They’ve opened up everything,” said Jay Palmer, a civil rights, human trafficking, and immigration rights activist, who works with many of the foreign visa workers who are exploited by their U.S. employers. He continued:
“The administration has basically taken down all the checks and balances, and they opened the entire immigration platform for any [foreign gradaute] that wants to come in. White-Collar American graduates are going to be filing bankruptcy on their student loans.”
The flood of foreign workers — mostly Indians — across the 50-state union line is growing the nation’s already-huge foreign workforce.
That little-recognized workforce consists of roughly 1.5 million non-immigrant foreign workers in U.S. white-collar jobs. The foreign workers are willing to accept low wages in the hope of getting U.S. citizenship. The workforce is helping to push down Americans’ salaries and bid up their house prices while inflation shrinks the value of U.S. graduates’ salaries.
DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas and pro-migration deputies are encouraging the inrush of illegal white-collar labor. In 2021, they welcomed approximately 1.5 million Latino migrants across the southern border, thereby helping to reinflate the post-2000 cheap-labor bubble.
Mayorkas and DHS have announced they are opening more pipelines for foreign workers to take white-collar jobs in the United States, rolling back security checks against fraud and also shutting down enforcement actions in the United States.

Aha! There’s the rub.
OK, but what's unfair?
There are lots and lots of countries that have lower standards of living than the US and can produce goods more cheaply. Is that unfair?
Can we only trade with wealthier countries, and would that be good for the US?
I work in software QA with dozens of these people, both onshore and offshore. Their quality is uneven (as with any race’s) but generally a bit lower than I’d like. The problem is now, my company is hiring Indians as *management* in more and more IT departments, including mine. My department manager (boss’s boss) is Indian, as are three of our team managers. I don’t think we’ve hired a white person as a full-time employee in my area in two years. Our Thanksgiving potlucks are literally curry, naan, and vindaloo from our 80% Indian, 85% contract workforce.
I’ve told my daughter point-blank, do not go into information technology. You will never be able to get an entry-level job unless you are truly exceptional, if you are white, because there is a solid block of Indian and Pakistani visaholders working in the entry-level and low-end jobs. And note that this situation is not always great for them either...they are exploited, chained to one particular employer, forced to work insane hours, paid terribly compared to what they should be (law notwithstanding, they always have ways to get around it). It’s not good for them OR us.

“Let’s be honest, though. Who wants to hire a whiny little woke crybaby straight out of American academia?”
I agree, they’re now getting EXACTLY what they demanded.
THANK YOU! First thought that came to my mind. Americans are so screwed!
The tax advantages are for OPT holders.
Hardly a doctor in our hospitals around here are Americans. The grand majority are from India and the Middle East. Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, etc., we are full of them. The entire cardiology department of a small hospital near here is entirely made up of Middle Eastern doctors. Not an American in the bunch. I even wonder if we have many American trained doctors anymore. Most are from “out of state” or “out of the nation.” I’m not saying they don’t know what they are doing, in fact most seem to know their jobs very well that I have dealt with. It is just that it does not seem like many American kids want to try to be doctors any longer. Why? Poor schooling, poor grades, attitudes, costs, what? Why are we not training enough doctors any longer?
Search Twitter for “unmatched American doctors.”
Nearly every underemployed or unemployed Democrat I know would still vote for Biden just cuz he’s not orange man, and they seem willing to accept their plight.
Millennials are smart but they want a trophy at the end of each day... heck, at the end of each meeting! and if you object to their immature ideas (which you know from experience will fail) they want to get you fired.
They do not understand the value of experience- you’re just an enemy to them getting their way, so they throw a tantrum.
And they only hire others of their kid. Like liberals do.
Until the SHTF and they need someone with experience.
I just checked out an entire module that was check-in absolutely full of crap- it looked like they just cut and pasted anything together and checked it in, so they could claim they worked on it. I had to scrap the entire thing ad start over... again.
:)
Yes they do, on all you mentioned.......
Fairly conclusive proof that "free trade" in this way is an unmitigated disaster for the US, with a tremendous loss of income growth, terrible technology transfer, growing income and political instability, a horrendous loss of comparative economic and military advantage, and the creation of a domestic class of wannabee oligarchs.
And no, a cheaper TV set is not adequate compensation.
I'm not sure the hundreds of millions of Americans who have saved huge amounts of money buying Asian cars, clothes, electronics, etc., etc. etc. would agree with you.
There's no question those products have helped raise our standard of living.
ugh. More anti-American policies from our scumbag in chief. Ultimately though, the problem lies with our corporate “leaders.” I’m glad I’m now in a position that is immune to outsourcing. They can’t legally hire a non citizen in my role. I don’t get paid market rate, but at least I’m done with fighting moronic corporate executives that are clueless about tech.
Short term. When you remove entry level your remove middle and then senior level.
But it isn’t zero sum. There’s a big shortage of entry level, hell, any level workers in the US right now.
If you wanted to open a tee shirt factory right now where would you find the workers? We arguably have full employment with much higher value jobs.
And our Masters, the Obidens and Obama's says, "Let them eat cake, or something that rhymes with it."
