Ivermectin ineffective in preventing severe COVID-19-study

Malaysian researchers found that treatment with the anti-parasite drug ivermectin did not prevent patients with COVID-19 from becoming severely ill in a randomized clinical trial published in the JAMA Internal Medicine journal on Friday.

The researchers said their findings do not support the use of ivermectin for patients with COVID-19.

The study enrolled 490 patients with mild to moderate illness at 20 hospitals and a COVID-19 quarantine center in Malaysia. Everyone received standard care; half the group also received ivermectin.

Severe disease developed in 21.6% of the patients given ivermectin and in 17.3% of those who received only standard care, the researchers said.They defined severe disease as requiring oxygen to help with breathing.

There were no statistically significant differences between the groups in rates of ICU admission, need for mechanical ventilation, or death, according to the study.

These were older high risk patients after nearly a week following diagnosis. Did not see if they were given anything else typically used in treatment protocols such as FLCCC, Zelenko, Marik, etc. Sounds rigged to me. Over 100+ studies prove otherwise.

Ivermectin has been given to ~80 million people for parasites, the population of Africa is 1.2 billion. So like 6% top. So stop with your first world ignorance, and do some real research. Not Infowars, not 4Chan, and unfortunately not FR.

Because that's not what they were testing? You can't give Ivermectin to all 5 billion people on the planet, but you could give it to most of the ppl who get sick. So it is useful to know whether it works if you give it to someone post positive.

My understanding is that ivermectin itself doesn’t treat covid directly, but that it works to deliver zinc where it needs to go to treat the covid. It’s my understanding that quercetin may do the same thing as ivermectin.

Ivermectin alone doesn’t do much to fight covid.

When I had covid in January, I used ivermectin and quercetin, along with zinc and D and C and B. It may have helped but I’m not a scientific study.

HCQ is the zinc ionophore, like quercetin.

Ivermectin is a protease inhibitor and it is believed that it works to block the spike protein from being able to enter the cell.

They work differently, which is why HCQ and ivermectin can be used in tandem if one does not work.
