Hugh Hewitt: ‘The Media Has Made Too Much’ of Durham’s New Filing

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt said Thursday on FNC’s “Special Report” that media reports claiming Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign spied on former President Donald Trump was going too far in the assessment of Special Counsel John Durham’s filing last week.

Friday, Durham filed a new motion in the case against attorney Michael Sussmann, who was indicted by a grand jury last year for making a false statement to the FBI about not representing Hillary Clinton while he was billing her.

Anchor Bret Baier said, “Former Secretary of State former Senator, former First Lady Hillary Clinton talking to New York Democrats today. This, on a day when there was another filing from John Durham in that investigation that she essentially laughed off today. We’re back with our panel. I wanted to get Hugh to weigh in on that filing and big picture. Hugh, first to you.”

Hewitt said, “Well, I agree that the media has made too much of this filing. I think I said two nights ago, we don’t know anything yet, because Sussmann can either go John Dean or he can go Gordon Liddy.”

He added, “Nobody knows nothing about the prosecution has until the prosecution rolls out its indictment.”

“Well, I agree that the media has made too much of this filing.”

What media?! Fox? You can’t find mention of it elsewhere.

He is a Clown. Clinton and the intelligence agencies tried to take down a sitting President. It doesn’t matter what is proven in a court of law. Guilty people get off (go free) everyday, it only makes them innocent in the eyes of the law.

It’s what the media does; The msm gets ratings as they gin up Trump impeachment charges and exclaim “This is it this time”. Then Trump is gone and they have NO ratings. Now FOX is breaking these blockbuster Durham stories and basically we know nothing. It’s all about ratings.

“Hugh Hewitt said...that media reports claiming Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign spied on former President Donald Trump was going too far in the assessment of Special Counsel John Durham’s filing last week.”

Did Hewitt demonstrate any amount of logical analysis in his claim?

Because Hewitt’s statement looks to be founded in fecal matter.

Ahh yes because we all know gathering data on a sitting president without his or his administration knowledge is really no big thing. That is not even in dispute but let’s ignore that elephant in the room.

The end result will see some sacrificial but well compensated underlings take the fall, go to a club med prison for a short stint, and that will be that. We delude ourselves if we think the likes of HRC or Brennan will experience legal peril. The Deep State operatives of both political parties will make it so.

Nothing personal against him but I think Hugh Hewitt is a hack in every sense of the word and I don’t care for him at all. Of course he thinks a dem scandal is nothing worth noting, he on the uniparty team.

...we all know gathering data on a sitting president without his or his administration's knowledge - by mechanical means that could compromise his performance as Commander-in-Chief, i.e., national security - is really no big thing.

Just to put a sharper point on your tongue-in-cheek statement.

"He added, “Nobody knows nothing about the prosecution has until the prosecution rolls out its indictment.” "

I agree. Nothing happens until someone does something.

How long are we going to have to wait for someone to do something?

why must ‘our’ side be full of such noodle-spined people like this. I mean you would NEVER EVER NEVER hear a liberal pundit say those words if party was reversed.

I was watching when hewitt said that and I thought the same thing others thought>>> “what fcking media is he talking about???” Why even say that and prop up the narrative that it’s no big deal? That’s essentially what’s he’s doing.

By the way, is hewitt physically sick? Not to be mean but he looks like he should be laying in a casket.
