The omicron wave that assaulted the United States this winter also bolstered its defenses, leaving enough protection against the coronavirus that future spikes will likely require much less — if any — dramatic disruption to society.
Millions of individual Americans’ immune systems now recognize the virus and are primed to fight it off if they encounter omicron, or even another variant.
About half of eligible Americans have received booster shots, there have been nearly 80 million confirmed infections overall and many more infections have never been reported. One influential model uses those factors and others to estimate that 73% of Americans are, for now, immune to omicron, the dominant variant, and that could rise to 80% by mid-March.

is it enough for what? To make Fauci STFU?
since omicron is similar to a bad cold, 70 percent is enough. COVID has always had a 99+ percent survival rate.
Nothing is ever enough.
Maybe more telling: we haven’t heard about going deeper into the Greek alphabet for quite a while now.
You sound like my (estranged) wife.
Except I trust that this is not a position that you do not actually hold.
For those who want to push the universal mailed ballots to facilitate electoral fraud, it will never be enough. Even if 100% of the population was immune and there were only a trickle of cases worldwide, that would be enough to continue the scam.
This nonsense needs to stop now if we want to get our country back.
Fauci moved the goal post at least 3 times.
Yep. It’ll never be enough
It will never be enough for the Branch Covidian tyrants.
The new one will definitely have to come out in time for mandatory mail in ballots
If I don’t need to see a doctor, mine won’t get reported. I think I’ve already had every version twice now anyway but never got tested or saw the doctor. 🙄
According to libs though, if I’m still alive without testing or a vax, I didn’t have Covid. Idiots.
No.
The shots and restrictions are about money and power and something weird I can’t figure out.
Covid will be a forever boogie man. Or white supremacy.
A fictional character always lurking.
For 3 or 4 days it was similar to a bad cold, the first 2 days were more flu like. Your mileage may vary.
How do you reach herd immunity when close to half of the population has vaccine induced aids?
You mean via natural immunity?
The thing is no one seems to think “natural” is good enough - we MUST have the vaxes!
We had it more than a year ago, before vaxes. Don’t want to get it again, but not that big a deal. Will not get untested vaxes for disease that hardly does anything.
Given 62% of America is vaccinated, (about) half of that would be 30% (+/-) receiving the booster. This is a maga fail.
Nope, because the Thisisit-Holycrapocron variant will soon sweep the world!
Agree on your last point - COVID has never been a real big deal. For some it is (I lost my MIL Jan 6). But for most of us, not even worth a doctor call.
Honestly, omicron is supposed to be “easier”, but I still don’t see or hear much about huge differences in effects. It’s all mostly non-entity annoyance. I don’t like that because it feeds the premise that this disease is horrible and highly dangerous, which is not true for nearly all.
