Quebec Drops Coronavirus Mandates After Rejecting Trudeau’s Emergency Decree
Breitbart ^ | 02/16/22 | John Hayward

Posted on 02/16/2022 8:19:31 PM PST by Enlightened1

Quebec stepped up its “deconfinement plan” this week and began lifting coronavirus restrictions, while Premier Francois Legault rejected Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s effort to crush the Freedom Convoy protest movement by invoking emergency powers.

“I think that I was very clear with the prime minister that the federal Emergencies Act should not, must not apply in Quebec,” Legault said on Monday. “We don’t have any problems in Quebec so far. The Sureté du Québec has everything under control.”

There were Freedom Convoy demonstrations in Montreal and Quebec City over the past two weeks, but they were relatively restrained and mostly held over weekends. Legault said using the emergency powers offered by Trudeau against the protesters would be unwarranted and divisive.

“I think that at this moment, it would not help the social climate. There’s a lot of pressure right now, and I think we have to be careful. We really don’t need to throw oil on the fire,” he said.

Quebec lifted more of the restrictions opposed by the protesters on Monday. On Tuesday, plans were announced to begin removing vaccine passport requirements in stages, with the process completed by March 14.

CTV News reported that size restrictions on private gatherings have been lifted in Quebec, restaurants can seat more customers, four visitors a day are now permitted at old age homes if they have vaccine passports, and seniors are permitted limited outings.

Gyms and spas are now allowed to operate at half capacity, while outdoor events will be allowed with up to five thousand attendees.

Oh, I dunno, man....

In the face of all these Provinces lightening up, Turd-O doubling down on dictatorship would be the trigger to something unprecedented.

After the resignation of the police Chief, I don’t think very many civil servants would follow him over that precipice, and the military has already indicated they’re not his puppets.

His milder moves have still had support, but every next step toward extremism he loses more.

Although......

I have a cunning plan.

His fellow cronies should ENCOURAGE HIM MIGHTILY to overreach, another step, and another, and yet another.... then saw off the limb behind him.

It’s a known fact, the lefties always devour their own, and what better strategy for a hopeful next-in-line than to make an entrance by precipitating the downfall of Turd-O at the very zenith of his country’s fiery hot hatred?

The political left in Canada is going to be so damaged by Turd-O, that just about the only avenue they have to saving some modicum of public prestige is to strike as dramatic a contrast between themselves and Turd_O as they can; going so far as to ENGINEER it to whatever extent possible.

Designing leftist partisan pols in Ottowa may well feed the Turd all the rope he needs to hang himself, then gloat over his corpse; be it merely political, or actual.

Yeah, British Columbia, which is owned by the Chinese, the Indigenous tribe and the would-never-be Americans who fled when there when the American Revolution began.

He’s not going to be able to overcome what he’s done politically even if he lifts the mandates now. Some things are just to late...this is one of them.

The Tyrant Trudeau should rescind his Emergencies Act invocation, but he’s more likely to double down. He might even go so far as to have the Governor General (the official representative of Queen Elizabeth II) prorogue Canada’s Parliament to prevent from holding a no-confidence vote. That would allow him to rule by fiat without having a Parliament able to stop him.

Trudeau still has options:
Step down voluntarily.
Be removed by Parliament.
Be removed by a military coup.
Be removed by hanging at the hands of an enraged mob.

I think the best option would be the one that terrifies every petty tyrant and would-be tyrant on the planet...

What about Nova Scotia? Not a border province?

So, reason ultimately prevails over tyranny.

Trudeau now isn’t

I am thinking that a change in tactics might be useful for the Truckers. Return to servicing locations (pickup or deliver) only to those providences that have lifted the restrictions. 6 out of 10 Providences gives them a tactical majority.

It is also much harder to go after truckers who can not be accused of breaking a law.

I was thinking of Quebec and Ontario and westwar; didn’t look closely at the map eastward.

Yeah, right?

Look, if an asteroid had struck me in the head and I were, right now, an influential Liberal Canadian MP; I’d be the working to encourage him to lunatic heights of power-madness with entirely phony support, then — as he got just about mid-span on his tyrannical “Bridge Too Far” — coming suddenly before all the cameras and microphones to play the Mark Antony to his Julius Caesar; to very publicly rescue Canada from Turd-O’s shocking excursion into despotic narcissism. The spectacle of his sudden, tyrant-terrifying crash into a fiery political crater would rock the foundations of the Earth.

"these are all the provinces: Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan."

If I go to Prince Edward Island, will I be able to find a souvenir of "Anne of Green Gables"?

Perhaps even the snooty Canadian French realize that if these tyrannical measures stand then their own relative position of strong self determination within the nation might also be threatened. Why they might have to threaten to become independent of Canada again!
