OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will inform provincial premiers of his intention to invoke special measures to give the federal government extraordinary powers to deal with protests that have shut some border crossings with the United States and paralyzed parts of Canada's capital, CBC News said on Monday.
Citing unnamed sources, CBC said Trudeau planned to invoke the Emergencies Act, a rarely used provision that allows the federal government to override the provinces and authorize special temporary measures to ensure security during national emergencies anywhere in the country.
It has only been used once in peacetime - by Trudeau’s father, former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau - during the so-called "October Crisis" in 1970. It was invoked twice during the two world wars, when it was known as the War Measures Act.
The CBC said Ottawa had no plans to send in the military.

A nations people will rally to the just cause of a nation. The COVID mandates have been found to be unjust. The govt imposing them can not stand.
I assume anything in mainstream media now is coordinated with the deep-state - but I them I have seen in several outlets now is very divisive race/ethnic angle. A large minority of truckers in Canada is now South Asian - Indian/Pakistani/Sikh.
Media is now pushing the narrative that these protests are old white guys - and the up-and-coming South Asians don't support the protests at all.
No doubt Trudeau and his woke leftists are pushing this highly destructive narrative.

So Trudeau would override the provinces and are relaxing the mandates and other restrictions? Maybe he wants an armed insurrection, but I doubt the Canadians will do anything other than passive resistance and filing lawsuits. Trudeau must be removed. The Canadians need to figure out how.

I bet that the emergency powers will re enact the vaccine passports and mask mandates in the provinces that dropped them.
