Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy (R) on Sunday voiced his support for President Biden's refusal to send U.S. troops into Ukraine to evacuate Americans in the country if Russia invades, saying people should use common sense.
Fox News Channel anchor Sandra Smith asked Cassidy if the U.S. should be doing more about the situation while he appeared on "Fox News Sunday," noting Biden's recent remarks.
"I agree with the president 100 percent," Cassidy said. "Use some common sense. We should not be endangering our soldiers or Marines, etc. because somebody decides not to evacuate until after the fact. Get out. If there's a pending invasion, use common sense. Leave."
During an interview last week with NBC News anchor Lester Holt, Biden adamantly stated that the U.S. would not be sending military forces to rescue Americans in Ukraine if Russia invades.
"That's a world war when Americans and Russia start shooting at one another," he said.
During his interview on Sunday, Cassidy, who sits on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, also said the U.S. must ramp up its own energy production to replace what may be lost in the event that Russian-made energy is cut off due to sanctions.
"We must resume using America's resources, ramping them up in order to provide or replace that which Russia would provide," said Cassidy.

Is Biden going to make Americans pay for their own way home, like he did when they were forced to evacuate Afghanistan? Joe let Hunter fly on government flights 411 times, visiting 29 different countries between June 2009 and May 2014. He went to China 5 times. He made millions on those trips, and Joe got his 10% cut. It cost taxpayers $193,696 for flights. This f-er is a walking nightmare. He’s going to get more Americans killed.

You can’t screw around in Russia’s backyard over things that aren’t strategically important to you. It’s too dangerous. The only move is to concede Russia its long term dominance here. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make Biden pay a price by claiming he’s responsible for this no win situation.

I don’t think Ukraine is the equivalent to Afghanistan even on a bad day. Just go to Lviv. (The western town bordering Poland.)
To: CondoleezzaProtege
Russia could attack Poland too ...
To: Tennessee Nana
It’s harder because US troops are in Poland
To: Tennessee Nana
I think Poland kept their nukes. Billy boy Clinton talked the Ukraine into giving up theirs, saying we’d always be there for them. And idiots tell pollack jokes. I got a $100 dollar bill that says Poland won’t charge tanks with horse mounted Calvary, when the next little dictator comes knocking.

What some people believe, once the Russians invade the Ukraine...there’s the Kaliningrad situation (a Russian ‘property’), which requires logistical support that comes from Belarus/Russia, and has to pass via Lithuania (about 75 miles). Some people believe military hardware will be driven in that direction, and will be halted at the Lithuania border.
Basically, the next trip-wire.
US/Polish troops on the NE of Poland would then be involved in this military situation. It doesn’t end in the Ukraine.
To: RandFan
Agreed. Americans have had weeks to leave Ukraine. Anybody still there made a conscious choice to stay. It isn’t like the gates of Kabul falling overnight.
Vlad made a deal with Xi and won’t invade until the fat lady sings at the Olympics. So there’s a little more time for anyone who has second thoughts about staying.

First, Cassidy reresents the New Orleans side of the state.
NOT MY SENATOR!
Second, were the folks in Ukraine getting out, Reuters would be telling us. There is no news of any, government or ciivilian movement leaving Ukraine.
Third, if we sent an embassy assigned contingent of troops, that would not be a sign of war, but to faciilitate the removal of embassy personnel and families, to preeclude a Benghazi affair part 2.
Fourth, since all airlines have cancelled flights to Ukraine, the only wway to get them out are by military or contract cattle car flights now.
Fifth, when Putin will move, it sill be Russian shock and awe time. By then, if any American is left, they are toast. Should European forces react, they won’t care who is in the way, so any left behind Americans had better fi d real good shelter.
Sixth, once again, thank you applesauce president, for the safety and security of our folks overseas, NOT!!!!!
To: RandFan
Cassidy is right for the wrong reason. Bye-den is a fraudulent CinC and no soldier should follow illegal orders that would put him or her in harms way. Of course plenty of our soldiers are now in harms way because the military leadership mostly ignores the Constitution.
To: RandFan
Cassidy is a hopeless RINO cuck who needs to be purged ASAP. Unfortunately, that won’t be until 2024.

<>Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire; foreign aid billions threatened
<>Kiev scrambles to make amends with president-elect Trump after working to boost Clinton.
<>President Petro Poroshenko’s administration, and the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, insists that Ukraine stayed neutral in the presidential race.
Donald Trump wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.
A Politico investigation found
<><>Ukrainian govt officials helped Hillary and trashed Trump, questioning his fitness for office.
<><>They disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption
<><>They suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election.
<><>They helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers.
A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation.
The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia. But they were far less concerted or centrally directed than Russia’s alleged hacking and dissemination of Democratic emails.
Russia’s effort was personally directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, involved the country’s military and foreign intelligence services, according to U.S. intelligence officials. They reportedly briefed Trump last week on the possibility that Russian operatives might have compromising information on the president-elect. And at a Senate hearing last week on the hacking, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said “I don’t think we’ve ever encountered a more aggressive or direct campaign to interfere in our election process than we’ve seen in this case.”
There’s little evidence of such a top-down effort by Ukraine. Longtime observers suggest that the rampant corruption, factionalism and economic struggles plaguing the country — not to mention its ongoing strife with Russia — would render it unable to pull off an ambitious covert interference campaign in another country’s election.
And President Petro Poroshenko’s administration, along with the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, insists that Ukraine stayed neutral in the race.

PART TWO----BIDEN SENDS US MILITARY PLANE TO RESCUE UNVETTED AFGHANS
Afghans chase US RRESCUE plane......eager to get here, to gorge on the US gravy train.
Photo Shows 600 young Afghan men WILLINGLY Crammed Inside US Military Plane.....RESCUED BY JOE BIDEN.
We saw them......young Afghan warriors .....no women and children.....chasing the U S military plan. Then safely aboard, they arrogantly stared back at us.
THEY were told when and where to board........Americans were not. Biden lied, as usual.....said that the Afghans they were bringing into the United States by the thousands would be thoroughly vetted. The Biden State Department.......and Bidens press mouthpiece Psaki .....all repeated the lie.

All the Afghans flown out of Kabul were vetted
BY THE TALIBAN
Otherwise they wouldn’t have been allowed on the airport grounds.

There it is. Whoopsie, Pelosi just gave the game away.
We have been looking for this exact political construct and today we got it. Nancy Pelosi appears on ABC This Week with George Stephanopoulos to discuss current events.
This was all planned in advance.
This is guaranteed to be a political pantomime.
The first topic is the “Russia-Ukraine crisis,” with Stephanopoulos asking Pelosi directly if she believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is about to invade Ukraine. Nancy Pelosi’s response [Transcript Here] tells us all we need to hear:
PELOSI: “Well, I think we have to be prepared for it. And that is what the president is — yes, I do believe that he is prepared for an invasion. I also understand why the President of Ukraine wants to keep people calm and that he wants his economy not to suffer. But, on the other hand, if we were not threatening the sanctions and the rest, it would guarantee that Putin would invade. Let’s hope that diplomacy works.
It’s about diplomacy deterrence. Diplomacy deterrence. And the president’s made it very clear. There’s a big price to pay for Russia to go there. So, if Russia doesn’t invade, it’s not that he never intended to. It’s just that the sanctions worked.” … “I’m very proud of the work that the president has done.” (read more)
Can you see the domestic political scenario that has been created out of thin air?
Democrats need a win on something; anything, to shift the narrative and change the reality of their failure into an illusion of success.
First, accuse Vladimir Putin of doing something he never intends to do, a fabricated scenario. Second, tell the world you will strongly respond to the fabricated scenario. Third, tell the world the exact date when the fabricated scenario is supposed to happen. Then, when the fabricated scenario never happens, it is because you are so brilliant and strong to have outmaneuvered and cowed the Russians.
Declare the absence of the Ukraine invasion event as the result of your brilliance and announce a foreign policy victory. That, my friends, is exactly what has taken place.
Yes, this is exactly how pathetic they are.
The fact they made this “Ukraine crisis” out of thin air, is what reconciles this:
