That’s fine. But I’m not sure if that alone will satisfy Russia. (Err…Putin. 🙄) Most Russian people do NOT want war and/or have Ukrainian roots, relatives, etc…

I don’t think Putin or Biden/Macron/Johnson want war either. I think everyone just benefits from the theater because it distracts from the dissatisfaction all their populations are feeling.

In my hometown, we had "like" neighborhoods....Italian, Irish, Polish, Ukrainian and/or Russians.

Any animosity was between Ukrainians/Russians and the Poles.

We have many Ukrainians in my Town in the suburbs of my hometown...Uke wife, Russian husband or reverse.

NATO has 50 nuclear weapons in Incirlik:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_with_nuclear_weapons

Russia sees Ukraine like we did Cuba, and with very good reason.

Can you please give any sort of confirmation of US appeasement leading to 150 million murders? You keep throwing that number around and it has no basis.

“NATO has 50 nuclear weapons in Incirlik:”

1. NATO does not share the exact number of nukes that are kept in any one place at any given time.

2. Due to maintenance issues and constant redeployment those numbers are rather volatile and subject to change.

3. President Trump removed most if not all US nukes from Incirlik during his term. I have not heard anything to indicate they were sent back by the Biden Administration.

***That would be a violation of our agreement with the Soviet Union after the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Russia sees Ukraine like we did Cuba, and with very good reason.
***Well, I don’t think it’s “very good reason” but I can see why THEY do.

Can you please give any sort of confirmation of US appeasement leading to 150 million murders?
***It was EuroPEAN appeasement. World War 2, which would have been avoided if we had handled Sudetenland properly.

You keep throwing that number around and it has no basis.
***WW2. Sudetenland. Hitler. Appeasement. 150M dead.

Trump didn’t push for Ukraine to ever be in NATO, so you are a posing Trumplican position.
***I perceive he would have.

America First does not mean instigating unrest around the world with Russia.
***We are not the ones instigating this. Russia is. It is in America’s interest to gain an ally against a bullying Russia.

Another fake Trumplican position.
***FOAD with this hyperbolic argumentation about trumplicanism.

It was England that appeased Nazi Germany—not the US.
***And WE fought against the NAZIs because of it. Nitpicking is the last refuge of the jerkwad.

You are batting .000 today.
***You are batting 1000 for being a jerk. Congratulations.

Maybe you should sleep on it and tell us tomorrow morning what it is you actually stand for, Mr. Cheney.
***Maybe you should do so yourself, jerk.

Bullcrap. 100%. There would have been no threatened invasion under Trump.

As I made clear. You need to work on your reading comprehension. Either that, or read my entire post before responding in knee-jerk fashion.

I certainly don’t support NATO allowing Ukraine becoming a member. I’d rather see the US completely abandon the treaty, frankly. They’ve gone so far beyond their original charter it isn’t funny, IMO..

“Ukraine’s ambassador to Britain has told @bbc5live Nolan show that his country might contemplate withdrawing its objective of joining NATO”

Looks like the ambassador later retracted his statement.

Perhaps it really is time to disband NATO. Every country for themselves.

However, in the past that just allowed open season on smaller countries to be gobbled up by larger ones at will.

Whatever happens, it should be changed so that Article 5 cannot be activated unless soldiers of an attacking nation cross the other nation’s borders.

Where did it say he retracted it?

Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK was “taken out of context” when he suggested that Kiev may officially end its goal to join NATO as a means of averting war with Russia, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has said.

In a statement on Monday, ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko attempted to cover for Ambassador Vadim Prystaiko, whose comments were reported on Sunday night as a significant revelation. Ukraine’s goal to join NATO is enshrined in the country’s constitution, and the ambassador’s comments could therefore be seen as unconstitutional.

I would not mind if we throw in with Ukraine too by agreeing we will have nothing to do with NATO either. It has outlived it’s usefulness for us where the biggest threat to our homeland is from cyber warfare and nuclear warfare from the skies, not land wars. In that respect our European allies are useless in our homeland defense while we have all the burden of defending European nations in land wars with Russia. Let them resolve their own disputes with their gas station, Russia.

This whole thing was a set-up. Russia was never going to invade Ukraine.

Its not the 1960's. US and Russia now have nuclear subs off enemy waters that can hit cities with nuclear missiles in no time at all.

Bull s*ht!!!! With all due respect, I mean really BS.

Putin wouldn’t have even thought of putting troops on the border. What’s more, as soon as he did, Trump would start with some military exercises in the area.

And when China strong arms Taiwan, I’m sure you’ll say the same thing.

Are you new to FR, or haven’t been paying attention to the Trump years?
