THE TREE OF LIFE
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him." (John 3:16,17).
One night I was watching a movie. At the end, the cowboy turned and put the name of his girlfriend in the window of his car for all to see. Then he put his arm around her and pulled her close. It has long been a custom for lovers to carve their initials in the trunk of a tree. Today, young romantics spray paint them on freeway overpasses or walls of abandoned buildings. It's the same sort of idea. Once, in high school, a boy carved my name in a heart-shaped wood sculpture. It was a long time ago, but the memory of being claimed that loudly, that openly has never left me. Who doesn't want to be loved like that? Wouldn't it be nice if there was someone to put all our names on the windows of a car, or a license plate, or a tree? Unfortunately, the names on windows, license plates and trees change. Some are left out, and some are never written at all. Once, long ago, there was another kind of tree; and this tree was able to hold all our initials. They were carved deeply for all to see, and they will never be crossed out. That tree was made into a cross, the cross where Jesus died. A King has claimed you and me. He has put His arm around us and pulled us close. He has put our names where they can be seen for eternity. Could anyone really love me that much? Sometimes it is hard to trust, even harder to believe, but the initials are there for all to see. And there they will remain FOREVER. Prayer: Lord Jesus, no one has ever loved me as You have. I ask that You come into my life today. Forgive me of my sins and teach me Your ways. Amen LCDR Bettie J. Davis, CHC, USN "....and he said, "Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat; thus says the Lord to you, 'Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God's. ~ You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you." 2 Chronicles 20:15, 17

Hey there, Kathy.
We just did miss getting a little snow this evening but it fizzled out just in time. Still cold and will be the next day or so.
They’re talkin’ a good chance for severe weather mid-week next week. Loverly. *sigh*
There were a couple of heavy snow hits at the airport earlier today. If it snowed in town, too, I hope it wasn’t while you needed to head out for your haircut and all.

It’s been cold here, currently 16. We did have two day in to the higher 30’s
some snow melted and compacted in the yard tho. Supposed to be 50 Wed and Thurs.
Will have to see.
I’ve been taking it very easy for a few days so plenty of rest.
I have to get back to some normalcy soon. Winter has kept me down.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Glad you weren’t stuck out on the streets during the worst of the snowfalls. It was almost white-out at the airport a time or two. That’s not fun to drive in.
Ice is really bad. It would be nice if there’s enough snow to cover it well before you head out next Thursday.
No corn shall go to waste. LOL Chickadees in your neighborhood have figured things out. :-)
No more snow coming tonight. The one batch that came close earlier is well off to the east now. I’m in, toasty and warm the next couple of days. Cooked a ham this afternoon and that had the kitchen nice and warm. LOL I’m going to bag and freeze it tonight for a lot of eating later on.

Howdy, luvie.
Did cooler weather settle in down there today? Pretty nippy up here and the wind didn’t help matters. Fortunately I didn’t need to go anywhere.

Hey there, radu!
Yes, it sure was cooler today. I don’t think it got up to 50. But it was mostly sunny, so wasn’t bad. Of course, like you, I didn’t get out in it to test it. LOL! Tomorrow will be about 60.
