Ontario Premier Doug Ford has declared a state of emergency in an effort to put an end to the “siege” in Ottawa and Windsor as the truck convoy protests continue to disrupt traffic and prevent the transport of goods across the Canadian border.
Ford made the announcement Friday at Queen’s Park, saying he will convene cabinet and “use legal authorities to urgently enact orders” that will protect international border crossings, as well as the 400-series highways, airports, bridges, ports and railways in the province.
Fines for non-compliances will be severe, the premier said, with a maximum penalty of $100,000 and up to a year imprisonment.

The optics of unleashing government power like this to retaliate against a legitimate and popular protest are not going to go over well. It will only engender greater support for the truckers and their cause.
When their authority and control are questioned and/or challenged the government’s first response is always a display of power. Its always about THEM.
Ain’t it funny. BLM and Antifa burning down cities and killing people is sacred, mostly peaceful protest for a worthy cause.
When the working man protests by shutting down roads, damaging nothing, hurting no one, that’s a bloody insurrection.

Actually, a lot of the French Canadians in Quebec have wanted their own separate country for a long time.
The Maritime Provinces(New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland) would like to be part of the USA. As would Alberta , SK & Manitoba.
BC is full of commies like Seattle. The people in the woods of BC are more like Montana.
It would hands down, be the most effective way to do it.
But that would require them giving up their control of the government and the people and they are not going to do that.
It would show that they are actually not in control of the government and they do not want to do anything to show the masses that the masses have any say in how things are run in Canada.
You know, the servants would get too uppity for their own good and just might want to run their own lives themselves instead of being used to service the elite so the elite can continue to live in the means to which they have become accustomed.
Not only being a crack-head but a distributor....along with other family members.
