Should You Still Be Wearing a Mask?

At this point in the coronavirus pandemic, some areas are phasing out mask mandates, but, at the national level, the guidance to wear masks is staying put, at least for now. So, should you mask up or not? Infectious disease experts have some advice for wherever you live.

The mask landscape

Whether you must wear a mask depends on where you live in the United States. Whether you should is an entirely different matter, experts say.

About a fifth of states never had mask mandates. Some states with more conservative governors, such as Florida, punished schools that put mask mandates in place by withholding funds, even when COVID-19 cases were at record levels.

An experiment here in WA using bear spray; the spray went through the mask and the COVID is a lot smaller.

Yep. I wore a mask a total of about 90 minutes during this entire pandemic and most of it was on a flight from Denver to nashville. Thankfully I didn’t spend much time on that flight wearing a mask because I had a big bag of peanuts that I slowly consumed. Very slowly. I did my research at the very beginning regarding mask efficacy. I see no need to wear a mask. Actually, I never did once I did a little research.

I do have a 3M mask that has a couple of detachable filters that I use for painting and other work in the garage. It would be fun to use that one in public. Everybody would think I was going overboard, except that only blocks air coming in. It allows you to freely exhale, completely negating the reason they want us to all wear masks. But most people don’t know that. And frankly, that’s the problem with this whole mask thing is just how much most people don’t know. 🤬

I’m pretty much done with this and even the last time I went to Costco the guy at the door offered me a mask and I declined and that was the end of it. It’s over.

Here in NJ, the sheeple still wear the cloth masks everywhere despite lack of a mandate and the fact that they have been told even by the media that they cannot stop the spread of Omnicron.

Nobody has done the study to see if mask wearing is actually dangerous. There are bugs on the mask. There is a limited oxygen levels, and the increase in CO2. So who is at risk with a mask? What activities should not be done with a mask? We don’t know. And nobody seems to care.

I would strongly recommend it when you’re robbing banks and liquor stores. Common sense, people.

The China virus was always a political and never a medical disease, or why would mask mandates disappear as an election year begins? Masking always made as much sense as using a chain link fence to keep out flies.

Wear one, don’t wear one. I really do not care either way. There just shouldn’t be a mandate.

Here in Austin, we had a boil water alert due to bacteria in the water supply. On Nextdoor I queried if I could just run the water through my face mask as the experts said masks prevent the transmission of viruses which are significantly smaller than bacteria.

My post was subsequently taken down by the moderators.

Here in Michigan there are 2 places I am required to wear a mask. The hospital, and State Farm Insurance.

We should never have been forced to wear masks or be forced to take a experimental liquid into our bodies to keep our jobs. The people who made this happen (i.e. democrat taliban party voters) need to suffer.
