Make no mistake, the recent Joe Rogan vs. Spotify scandal is not about COVID and what constitutes proper medical protocols to fight it. It’s about the future of free speech in America.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s statement on Tuesday, directing Big Tech and Spotify to do “more” to eradicate alleged COVID “misinformation” on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, suggests that the future of the First Amendment is bleak. A representative of a ruling party dictating to a private company what content is “accurate” and what is not, is a clear sign that the US government has embraced censorship.
Just like the Soviets, the benevolent authoritarians want to “protect” you from the bad influence of the Rogan type “rogues.” Consider that the Rogan interview deemed wrongheaded by America’s elites was not with some charlatan but with a medical doctor, a clinician, Dr. Robert Malone. Malone’s thought crime is that he doesn’t sing in unison with the “The Science” espoused by Tony Fauci, who has been stood up as the COVID Minister of Propaganda whose every word must be accepted as truth.
As someone who grew up behind the Iron Curtain, in the former USSR, I am all too familiar with the dangers of censorship, a hallmark of communist totalitarianism. There’s a reason why repressive states like Russia and its predecessor, the Soviet Union, cling to it. That is how the ruling class stays in power. Totalitarian states do not tolerate alternative viewpoints because they don’t want their subjects to engage in critical thinking, which can lead to the end of their regimes. Therefore, they control what the people say, write, and even think by punishing those whose opinions stray from an established orthodoxy.

Trump showed us: NEVER EVER APOLOGIZE. EVER.
Rogan listened to his handlers and advisors who think this is a discussion. They’d kept a file on him - the “N Word” video - and we waiting for just the right spot.
He should have done the Trump approach: double the F down. Challenge someone to come on the show (and some Dr. ego trip type would show up) and have a debate and discussion of the scientific issues.
Instead, he caved and the cancel Nazis smelled blood. Now he’s apologized again.
Rogan, I believe, got his $100m up front. He’s got 11 million viewers a week (compared to 2nd place Tucker with 3-4 million) so he can do his own network.
All about platforms and we need to build our own Twitters, Facebooks, and OWN SERVERS so they can’t pull what they’ve done the last few years.
Time to ask-
Are you passively pro-free speech?
Or actively anti-censorship?
Every major social media platform ACTIVELY CENSORS freedom-loving Western chauvinists.
And- ACTIVELY PROMOTES anti-American values.
Are you on Facebook? If so, stop bitching.
Make no doubt about it: the weeping and gnashing of teeth and Neil Young et al's protest isn't about "misinformation." This is all about a guy who has the attention of Millenials and GenZers and who LET'S HIS GUEST TALK...and the kidz are starting to think for themselves and realizing maybe Fauci and Bidet and wokeism etc is a sham.
The leftists have the schools. Rogan has the streets.
I hope they go after Howard Stern.
The apologies are pathetic. I am willing to bet his millions of listeners now see him as a week bullied coward and will lose a lot of them. NEVER apologize is right when it comes to these woke mobs. When it comes to saying “neighbor” he should have just told them to shut up until they cancel every vile rapper who should that word every other sentence. I have never seen someone do so much in such little time to destroy everything he worked for.

Howard Stern has gone to the dark side. With that move, he has lost his sense of humor.
This is about coding "misinformation" from the leftist playbook into law.
If it's "misinformation" you're guilty, PERIOD.
Yup
Bolsheviks
The leftists have the schools. Rogan has the streets.

“Howard Stern has gone to the dark side. With that move, he has lost his sense of humor”
Coward Stern isn’t humorous.
What is happening here is the famous Commie tactic from the 1960s:
“Pressure from above, pressure from below.”
The state (and in the current situation Big Tech) tag team with individual leftists and terrorist leftists (Antifa, BLM) to crush their enemy.
Rogan apologized. That was the beginning of his downfall.
