The White House has reportedly floated an offer to Russian President Vladimir Putin to allow Kremlin access to key NATO bases in exchange for Moscow de-escalating tensions over its military buildup on Ukraine’s border.
The proposal would also involve discussions about Russia verifying that the US has not deployed Tomahawk cruise missiles to bases in Romania and Poland, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.
The reported offer would be contingent on agreement from US allies, including Romania and Poland, while Russia would also have to provide similar information about bases with ground-launched weapon systems.
The overture reportedly is intended to ease Putin’s fears that the US could target Russia with the missiles.

The rest of NATO may have something to say about this.
One would think President Trump might have a comment or two on this.
Joe....what are you doing?
Today’s Russia is not the monolithic threat it was when it was the USSR. They are just a kleptocracy regional threat to Europe. Europe’s interests are misaligned with ours when it comes to Russia, particularly now that Germany and France decided to compromise their security to access Russian energy. Time for them to grow up and cut them loose with the message that we are out of the game when it comes to spats on that continent. I do not even think we should be involved in settlement talks there because Western Europe has a different set of interests involving energy. Our concentration should be on the real threat to national security - China.
WTF?????
I can just see the Poles and Hungarians welcoming Russian military inspectors. Does this go for the Baltics as well. Great job Brandon.
Hey! How about access to Cheyenne mountain and Patterson AFB?
Richard cranium.

Biden already gave the Taliban $80,000,000,000 of our military hardware, so Russia already has a functioning copy of everything we have.
Maybe he should just cede Alaska to Putin, too - it will get rid of a pesky red state, /s
I definitely agree that the PRC is the far greater threat. That threat is so entrenched it’s almost taboo to discuss it in ‘polite’ circles... I believe that China is not only the enemy OUTSIDE the gate, they are the enemy INSIDE the gate also.
Obama deployed airborne troops to the Baltics and Ukraine. Brandon’s handlers aren’t even doing that. Hilarious to see they dragged the Romanians into this.
Surprised his handlers dont dress him in a general’s uniform with lots of fruit salad when he makes these little speeches.
This is William Jefferson Clinton III stuff -
Clinton actually did stuff like this, just most were not watching, and fewer understood what he was really doing, and who he was really answering to.
As well, while Clintoons was in office, Yeltsin was every bit the puppet Buyden is. Deep state working with deep state.
And just what Russian bases in western Russia or Belarus would the U.S. and NATO get access to, in return????? It is doubtful Biden made his proposal contingent on any reciprocity from Russia. THAT - U.S. weakness - not Ukraine in particular is the U.S. domestic issue - we have a weak (empty vessel) leader.
And just to show further good faith, he’s going to give Vlad our nuclear codes.
The biggest problem is that the defensive and offensive missiles are using the same launchers and even look alike, being a modular system where the munition is coming in a standardized canister.
Why the US needs access? They aren’t a threat to the US.
Then what may be in Poland or Romania is no threat to Russia.
Collusion. Every single word and action from the resident astonishes in its pushing of the stupidity envelope.
