The tally for how much the federal government spent to combat COVID-19 is now estimated to be $5 trillion. It is more than the combined costs of World Wars I and II. The left is celebrating that politicians in Washington saved us. Really? From what exactly?
Two years later, it is time for an honest assessment. Could things have worsened for the country if the government had spent nothing and done nothing? What would have happened if we had not shut down our businesses? Our churches, schools, and restaurants. Our parks, basketball courts, and playgrounds.
Would the public have made worse decisions regarding protecting its health and the health of its families and its employees than the politicians have made?
The left believes that it was government intervention that saved millions of lives. But even with all the federal spending, some 879,000 (and counting) have perished from the virus. It was politicians such as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo whose awful decision-making contributed to the deaths of thousands of seniors exposed to infected patients in nursing homes. In addition, politicians didn't shut down the New York subway system for many weeks into the virus, costing thousands more avoidable deaths.

Government only rewards its failures. Understanding that, they have roundly succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Its hardly about the money.
What about the LIES from Fed.gov at all levels? For example, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases blatantly lying about the origin of Covid? Or everyone from Biden on down lying about the effectiveness of so-called vaccines? Or mask mandates? Or that Covid was used as a pretext to steal an election?
Its not the money - rather its destroyed faith in Fed.gov which will never come back.
An important article. Perhaps the most tragic part of this story is that the lies continue as do the death and misery.
In the first few months we could all cut them some slack but as they ramped up the panic going into the election and not only ignored but lied about potential therapeutics and supplements (i.e. vitamin D / quercetin/zinc), other treatments that showed efficacy, efficacy of steroids in early respiratory distress, and continued to push a massive (and expensive) failure like Remdesivir (or “rundeathishere”).
How many lives have been lost? How many businesses are ruined? Compare our numbers in the last year to those prior to the election of 2020.
Despite all the evidence to the contrary they continue to push a failed vaccine program and still ignore risk assessment to push dangerous vaccines on children. Where did all this money go? My kids and grandkids will have to pay it all back but WHERE did it go?
Almost all those lives could have been saved with Ivermectin.
Probably a trillion of it was ripped off by democrat scammers.
The headline sold be preceded by two words: “so far.”
At least 80% died needlessly after monoclonal antibody treatment and other therapeutics became available. But they did everything in their power to push Vaccine only.
The two people I know closely that died. One was because of the vaccine (blood clouts, healthy 35 year old) and the other from the hospital sending him (30 year old, sleep apnea) home without treatment.
There should have been an Operation Warp Speed for therapeutics and pushed the positive results. This would have safe 100s of thousands of lives.
We are witnessing the complete destruction of our country in the hands of spoiled brats. They care nothing for this country, its values or its future. All they want is to steal, plunder and line their pockets with as much candy and cookies from the public coiffures before they get spanked back into their cribs.
They know their days are numbered... so the obstinate and candy grubbing toddlers go scorched earth and are sowing as much destruction, misery and division they can cause; torching/burning as many institutions, laws, traditions, and our history. They bring anarchy as they piss on us all, crap in their pants and smear it all over the White House walls.
These evil rugrats and children spawned from Satan will leave our country in cinders. They will be laughing at the crumbled cities, the destroyed businesses, the devastated livelihoods and chaos they leave in their wake.

I believe that the word, “election,” that you reference in your post, is the key factor in the scheme.
The shock that Donald J Trump caused, when he was elected to the Presidency, was earth shattering to all of the enemies of Freedom and Capitalism. The crime that he committed was to run for President without the permission of the Puppeteers/Globalists/Progressives, etc.
Before he was even elected, there was a contingency plan that included a “Pandemic,” to throw the WORLD into a chaotic fight against whatever the disease was. Covid-19 was, I believe, developed in China with US Health Officials funding the research. The plan to leak the virus was timed to end the first term of President Trump. The impeachments were just circus because the Senate would not convict the President, but, why not embarrass Trump with the show?
This government mess succeeded because the “steal of the election,” which is the proper term, was allowed by the five states targeted and the people in control of their state’s election procedures FAILED to investigate and let it pass.
RINOS and never Trumpers were the scum that greased the whole scheme. The Democrats knew, in advance, that they would be helped.
How can our government survive with any credibility intact?

Pharma makes its' money by repeated usage via subscription and serial prescriptions.
This alone defines what the emphasis is in NIH/FDA/CDC (!)
for a series of subscription prescriptions, and not for prevention.
Money for research for diseases which they create, at least in this covid instance.
