The AR-15-style rifle that Kyle Rittenhouse used to shoot three people during a 2020 street protest will be destroyed by the state of Wisconsin and not returned.
The agreement, made among prosecutors, Rittenhouse and Dominick Black — the man who purchased the rifle — was announced Friday morning in court.

He will receive at least 100 ARs as gifts that are much better.
It should be in the Smithsonian.

You can buy a lot of ARs for CNN lawsuit money
Even though I personally disagree with the need to destroy an object I can see why Kyle would want to just get past this episode and get on with his life and just say, or have his spokesman say the politically correct boiler plate he needs to. The other side needs their consolation prize. Trying to hold on to the gun would spark a new controversy with people accusing him of wanting a trophy.
Sounds like another lawsuit to me.
On what basis are they going to destroy his private property?
Not surprised though. My BIL had a bunch of his weapons confiscated by the Illinois State Police. Case went to the courts he was found innocent, judge ordered them to return them to him. They stalled for over a year. Finally they relented and sent him his guns. All completely disassembled and in one big box.
Had to pay a gunsmith thousands to have them reassembled.
Already had several offers...not sure if he took them or not, but there were several far-superior rifles headed his way.
I always check the PSA website, when I hear they have a new lower out. They’ve produced several that I would have liked to purchase (if I had a bigger budget available ;>)...
Yes…should be in the Smithsonian as an article of Justice…
To fulfill the wishes of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Maybe so, but it still sends the wrong message, i.e., that the gun was the problem and that there’s something wrong with keeping it around for symbolic reasons. He’s probably listening to timid lawyers who find guns personally offensive.
The Trayvon gun sold for 175K.
Kyles AR would be worth at least 250K.
He’s a young kid with schooling and the start of a career ahead of him will be expected to join and be part of polite society over the next few decades. The people controlling his academic and professional future could very well be watching him like a hawk. He doesn’t have the luxury of being able to flip off the powers that be like Zimmerman for the sake of a community and cause that has been so well buried he probably doesn’t know about it. This is the price of conservatives blowing it in the culture wars.
Bad rifle! Bad bad rifle! Did they try hitting it with a newspaper?
Do they destroy CRIME CARS? Why not?
This should be claimed and raffled off for a good charity. It would fetch a lot for a good cause.
Who knows? Rittenhouse has said it was his intent to destroy the rifle ever since his acquittal.
Bad gun!
The kid needs a cameo in the next John Wick movie.
“You have to ask why prosecutors are even asked their opinion on the matter since Rittenhouse is free and clear.”
Kyle not a party here.
