New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) announced Wednesday she will be asking National Guard members and state employees to become certified to fill in as substitute teachers as teacher staffing shortages continue to skyrocket.

Along with “encouraging” National Guard members and state employees to become licensed substitute teachers, the governor’s “Supporting Teachers and Families” (STAF) initiative will allow state workers to use administrative leave to temporarily fill the vacancies.

Why are these Governors allowed to use the National Guard to cover for their own mistakes.

Who is going to put a stop to this/ These are not emergencies and nobody is starving yet.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Possibly. I just didn’t want to be lumped in with the commies. There are still a few conservatives in NM; looking for a way out.

“ New Mexican voters must really be dumshits for electing a queen like this.”
Our state would make a great 3rd world banana republic if you could grow bananas here. Vote fraud has been a way of life here for decades.

And these guard members and state employees... their jobs just sit empty I guess? This is like in the USSR when the Army was sent out to harvest wheat sometimes.

The glory of socialism.

-- National Guard needs to tell them NO. --

Right now it's just asking them (and I assume the rest of the world) to get certified, volunteer-style.

Just don't volunteer.

If it changes to an order, well, those in the guard signed up for the purpose of getting paid for following orders, so follow the orders and get paid.

They are whatever their superior tells them thay are.

National Guard are state controlled. One of the ways the feds have usurped power is to pay the mercenary's wages, in return for the right to federalize, which amounts to having a federal officer giving the orders.

In between bouts of being federalized, the guard is subject to the governor's orders.

-- Who is going to put a stop to this/ These are not emergencies and nobody is starving yet. --

Good question. My guess is "nobody." It's part of humanity to sometimes be under bad government.
