NEW YORK (AP) — Three studies released Friday offered more evidence that COVID-19 vaccines are standing up to the omicron variant, at least among people who received booster shots.
They are the first large U.S. studies to look at vaccine protection against omicron, health officials said.
Three shots of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were about 67% effective against omicron-related symptomatic disease compared with unvaccinated people. Two doses, however, offered no significant protection against omicron, the researchers found.
“It really shows the important of getting a booster dose,” said the CDC’s Emma Accorsi, one of the study’s authors.

Omicron will be done in a few weeks from today. Before these clowns get in their vax clown car.
Sure it does. My neighbor who has all 3 shots got covid in September and Omicron in January! Wish they would just get over it and let us live our lifes!
I think the vaccine advocates and so-called anti-vaxxers can all come together and agree: the credibility of the CDC is totally shot.
“Commissar, the jab isn’t working!”
“Take another! THIS time it will work!”
Fauci and Wallensky need more booster bucks!
LOL. Did anyone expect the “studies” to show anything different? With every passing day fewer and fewer people trust the CDC.
The ever moving goal posts.
After 2 1/2 years we know none of this is real, none of this makes sense, none of this needed to happen.
Sheesh..not this crap again. Holding up? Pure nonsense. It’s a mild case of the sniffles and their fake vaccine is “holding up.” C’mon, AP... you can kiss big Pharma’s butt better than that.
Ya think? Two years too late but OK.
Oh horesehit.
The CDC has no credibility and something they call a “study” is anything but. They’re a division of corrupt government and nothing more.
REally? Why?
Needless to say, there are numerous authorities that say the current vaccine is not effective against the Omicron variant. The CDC’s credibility is so lacking that I wouldn’t get jab #3. Add to that they’re actively suppressing news about side effects. No matter what you believe about the safety/efficacy of the vaccine, the behavior of the CDC is, by itself, enough to make rational people decline the risk of getting the shot.
My entire family, most of whom unlike me had taken the “booster” shot, went through this virus between Christmas and New Year’s. Comparable to a bad cold or mild, short duration flu. Modest fever, a few muscle aches, fatigue, occasional coughing, and 24-48 hours of nasal congestion. I’ve had amoebic dysentery (”Delhi Belly”) a couple times overseas, appendicitis, various infections and injuries requiring surgery, so was less than impressed with this “lethal” virus. I’m sure Wuhan and Fauci are working on an “improved” version, but this isn’t it.
“Two doses offered no significant protection against omicron”. So, as liberals always do, they keep doing what has already failed.
When liberal solutions fail, as they always do, liberals always demand a strengthening of the failed solutions, which will also fail, prompting liberals to again demand a strengthening ..... Repeat until doomsday.
How about a vaccine for the totally out of control Government?
Three shots of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were about 67% effective against omicron-related symptomatic disease...

Three shots, with a chance of side-effects with each, to achieve a 67% probability of having lesser symptoms than someone unvaxxed, where the symptoms of omicron are a head-cold.
Needed for whom??? The 90%+ of the population to whom Omicron is not fatal. Better that 90%+ get their minor Omicron illness, their own antibodies developed and make their contribution to herd immunity naturally.
Leave the booster shots for the very elderly, in nursing homes or not, the obese and other folks with comorbidity issues that complicate a Covid19 illness. The advanced age and comorbidity factors make for compromised immune systems and it is such systems, not the generally healthy, that might need the “booster shots”. However, anecdotally, I had a 95 year old friend who survived a Covid19 illness in the summer of 2020 and died in late 2020 from other causes. Even not everyone in an advanced age is necessarily Covid19 vulnerable, though statistically that group demonstrates greater risk, which is why a “booster” could be considered useful for them (though I have my own doubts about the MRna vaccine approach we are all current lab rats for).
