Italy was a trip, the sub pulled into la maddelena and we took a ferry to Palau, there a squid from the det in Rota Spain took us to Rome on dirt roads in a mini cooper.
2 seabags, 3 spooks on dirt roads in Italy. In a mini cooper!
In Rome some goomba put a submachine gun in my ear.

Memorable 48 hours

Yeah, it’s still early. Hope there won’t be any more bad ones, but the chances are there will be. I’m just happy staying in. I have no place I need to be till Sunday morning.

Snow off and on for a total of a bit over 2” yesterday, but tomorrow we are sending you the cold.

The high tomorrow is supposed to be 40 and high 30s for a few days. Then the cold returns here.

Yep. February is usually worse than January so we have a ways to go yet. Can’t say I’m looking forward to it. LOL

I was able to get out this afternoon to do what I’d planned but have nothing planned the next few days. Fortunately next Tuesday looks ok. I have an eye exam appointment that afternoon.

Good luck with the eye exam! I need to get one, but my doc retired and I have to break in a new one. I can see fine, but at my age, I need to check for cataracts, etc. Just routine stuff. Hope that’s what yours is.

I just need new glasses. They always check for things like glaucoma, cataracts, and who knows what else.
Fortunately my eye doc is several years younger than I am so I don’t see him retiring any time soon. I have a screwy prescription and had trouble getting glasses made correctly for a couple of years after moving back to TN. I gave him a try and voila! He figured out what to tell the lab to do to make the glasses come out correctly. I’ve been going to him ever since - - over 20 years.

You’re lucky your doctor got your script right. It makes all the difference.

The last few times I had glasses made, they weren’t right and when I complained, then the replacements weren’t right either. I never could get that “comparison” thingy just right I guess. Now I don’t need them, but I do need to get checked for any diseases, etc.

The first two optometrists I went to here told me the glasses were fine - that I just needed a few days to get used to them. Nope. There was no getting used to them because they were wrong. I finally got reimbursed after telling them the next visit would be from my lawyer. I didn’t have a lawyer. LOL

Sean figured out the problem stemmed from the fact everything is computerized these days and the program would get one lens right but not the other. He told the lab to do the lenses individually - not as a pair - and that worked. This was after they got the first glasses wrong three times. Ever since, there’s been no problem.

The lab told him several years back I have one of the most difficult prescriptions they have to make. I know they hate it when I need new glasses. LOL

WooHoo!

That’s what I get for watching a show instead of watching the numbers. LOL!

LOL I’m usually the one who gets distracted. I was tonight for a brief time but you were distracted longer. :-)

A very pleasant good Friday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Beach for this morning's thread.

How's everyone doing this morning?

Right now, my main eye problem is that they are so dry, just like everything else in this super-dry environment. I can’t blink enough to keep them moistened.

Are y’all supposed to get more snow with this next round of cold or just blustery cold.

Howdy, e.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Did you and Gizmo venture out to the lake yesterday or was it still a bit cold for it?

Howdy, EGC! ((hugs))

All is well here in W. Texas. Just cold and dry. Did y’all get a lot of wind before it got cold up there in OK? Were you and Gizmo able to get out to the lake today?

Do you use eye drops made for dry eyes? I keep a bottle on hand though I don’t need to use them often. But once in a while I’m glad I have them.

I’m not sure which “next round” you’re referring to. We have this cold spell for another day or so, then we’ll warm up for a couple of days. There’s a slight chance for rain next Tuesday but we’ll be in the 40s so no rain with that. It’ll drop back to 30s on Wednesday but it’ll be dry.

Oh, I guess you’re IN the next round that I was thinking of. Looks like there is more to come along the east coast, but in getting there it’ll miss you...at least the snow/sleet part. Or, I could just be sleepy and have no idea. LOL!

And that’s why I’m going to head out. I really haven’t been getting enough sleep lately. See ya tomorrow for some fun tuneage! What kind...have no idea. :)
