So support for the filibuster is **bipartisan** !
Both parties support it!
No. That only works when a couple of Republicans vote with the Dims. When a couple of Dims vote with Republicans it is Treason.
The Lying, Dying Fake News Liberal Media - NO Lie They Won't Tell would be hailing those two as McLame-esq Heros. The Conscience of their Party, Brave Statesmen willing to buck the majority for what's "right".
Makes sense, but actually not a single congressional Republican voted for BammyCare.
What a biased piece of crap.
Sinema and Manchin remember what happened when Reid changed some rules, and how the Democrats got their tails handed to them by the next Republican majority.
My guess is that if they handed been the two Democrats against, someone else would have stepped in. The Democrats do not want that rule removed because it will beat them to death when the Republicans take charge.
Schumer was glad someone killed it for the very reason you state. he can tell the AOC people that they tried but Sinema and Manchin were the “bad” Democrats. And Manchin will be given ticker tape parades “metaphorically” from his base in WV, which just got significantly stronger with all the push back from Democrat loud mouths. The only way he could lose his race in WV is to die, and even that might not be enough.
Biden said yesterday at that joke of a preas conference that if republicans win midterms the elections are illegitimate.

I would add that no regulations from federal agencies are binding until Congress votes on them, and are signed into law by the President.
Both were yes votes for legalization of voter fraud AKA HR 1. So yes they saved the filibuster but ok with the rat take over of every state’s election rules or lack thereof.
.......if the marxist democrats had a functioning brain cell they would kick Kneepads and Brandon to the curb and install Manchin and Synema in their place. # 1, their November 2020 Coup didn’t work and is backfiring badly on them and # 2 they are fixing to get wiped out in November which very well could lead to them being out of power for decades.
A half loaf is better than no loaf at all.
I thought I read somewhere that Murkowski was going to vote in favor of lifting the filibuster rules. Wonder what happened to change her mind, again?
The Constitution needs to be changed, again, to bring back the old method of appointing senators by the states.
Only a tiny bit better, as the 2016 election proved when they took both Houses and used their power to stifle Trump and the people.
Sadly the American people have no stomach for doing what is necessary to correct this, at least not until things get much, much worse, maybe not even then.
This is ridiculous. Are you creating a new US Constitution or are you just playing a game?
I regret that I read your post.
I suspect you took my comment far too seriously. I was tossing out an intentionally extreme and unlikely scenario, as a way to illustrate the fact that legislatures -- by definition -- only generate laws and virtually never eliminate them even when they're obsolete or have been demonstrated harmful.
I have to stop reading when they call this bill a “voting rights” bill.
I’m getting better, the old me would have blasted you.
I see how your mind works. Not sci-fi but like that politically. Some guys on here come up with crazy ideas.
Sorry to have bothered you.
Hey, it's FR, we've both been here about the same length of time, getting blasted occasionally comes with the territory. :-)
> Some guys on here come up with crazy ideas.
That's certainly true.
> Sorry to have bothered you.
No apology necessary, I was happy to explain myself, so no bother at all. Have a great rest of the evening!
