Once the Democrats are again in the minority in 2023, the filibuster will of course once again be a sacred tradition.

Agreed. I suspect their call takes will be a bit busy the next few days, so maybe a email will work for those that don’t have time.

“It did reveal, however, just how much support filibuster reform has within the Democratic caucus, and highlighted a stark shift in the party’s position on the issue.”

No it doesn’t. It only indicates they want the change only when it suits them. They sure as hell didn’t want it changed during Trump when the Republicans had a majority.

Of course back then, it was the Republicans that wanted it changed - including Trump.

"So support for the filibuster is bipartisan !"

IIRC that's about the same count for Obummer care. One or two Rino's got in on the action.

Yep, those Teleprompter Reading Genius were all too happy to report a bipartisan support for it.

Have to revoke 4 existing laws for each law passed.

I think it was done to see if the turncoat Republicans could possibly vote for it to get back at the party.

They’ll keep trying to pass the Cheat Forever Act. Without it they know they’re A) going to get shellacked in November and B) probably never going to be able to pull of a repeat of the Steal.

If you thought states had passed Election Integrity Laws before, wait til you see what they pass after the November elections when several RINO/Democrat governors in key swing states get booted out of office.

So far I have been pleasantly surprised that Manchin and Sinema have held firm. If they hold firm for one more year, the grave threat to the Republic will have passed. The voters will see to that.

Joe Manchin would actually be a strong candidate for the Democrats to run in 2024.....but let’s face it, they will NEVER nominate him even if he did want to run. The hard Left despises him.

He is thought to want to be West Virginia’s governor again.

Nor the two from Georgia. Nor Sherrod Brown from Ohio. Nor Gun Grabbing China Sellout Mark Kelly from Arizona.

If Red States would simply stop electing hard Left Democrats, the Republicans would control the Senate indefinitely.

So. If a GOP Congress and Administration enact a law that say, says a picture ID is required to vote you’d be happy that the next minority Democrat Congress and Senate session could take their 40% and get rid of that law?

How much you want to bet they’ll primary Manchin and Sinema when they’re back up for reelection.

Looks like Dems shot themselves in the Senatorial foot. By forcing a vote to pander to their progressive wing, Dem senators in red and purple states who were in hiding on these issues and that are up for election in 2022 like Kelly in Az, Hassan in NH and Tester in Montana and a few others were forced to load the ammunition into their prospective Republican opponents’ guns to blow them away come fall. These senators have voted against the express desires of their constituents to please the national Democrat Party and they are going to hear it from their Republican and Independent and the few sane Dem constituents’ night and day until November. Enjoy the suck.

The support for the filibuster was bipartisan, according to Pelosi’s definition. She said that if one Republican voted for something that Democrats supported, it was bipartisan. I wonder if the MSM will report it as a bipartisan defense of the filibuster.

Will they still be able to do the ballot harvesting that they did in 2018 that caused them to win a lot of seats?

The Constitution needs to be Amended to make it necessary to get a 60% vote to pass legislation in both The House and The Senate.

Only caveat would be that only a simple majority is needed when a law is repealed.
