People still drink orange juice? Such a 1950’s thing. It’s 2022.

I gave up on commercial orange juice about 10 years ago.
I grew up in Florida and drank grove fresh juice for 35 years, which pretty much spoils you for life.
I moved to the USA West Coast in the 1990s and actually found some really good OJ in the stores for a premium price.
By the 2000s, it did not matter what price you paid. All the OJ was marginal, and I just moved on to water and V-8 juice.
Around 2020, V-8 started messing with its formula, and I had to give up on that, too.
Today, I am 100% H2O, and I really miss the OJ and V-8 I used to drink every day.

Is the Gros Michel banana still around or is it extinct today? It is not extinct. I've never had one but I believe you can special order some from the internet. Very expensive.
I've heard that when you have banana-flavored candy that tastes "fake" or "too sweet" or "not really how banana tastes" it's actually a representative of what all bananas used to really taste like. I don't know if that's true. One of these days I might try to order a Gros Michel and find out.

Breakfast is becoming more expensive. In my locale, bacon was $4-5/lb pre-covid and is now $8-10/lb. Makes no sense because ham is about the same. Both are processed somewhat similarly. Nitrate/nitrites and smoked.

Citrus processing (orange/grapefruit juices) plants have been reduced to about 8-10 (from 30-40) due to greening and other citrus maladies. Just not enough product to process. Plants have to run at nearly 100% capacity to be profitable.
Did I mention that probably 60-70% of Florida citrus is owned by Brazilian concerns?
