New trucking vaccine mandate is likely to make fruit and vegetables more expensive

ew vaccine mandates for truck drivers are likely to increase the cost of produce.

The cost of transporting fruit from California and Arizona to Canada climbed 25% last week, the CEO of Canadawide Fruits, George Pitsikoulis, told Bloomberg on Monday.

The Montreal-based executive pointed to a lack of truck drivers who are able to cross the border between the US and Canada due to a vaccine mandate that cuts US trucking capacity in half, according to data from the American Trucking Association. The group estimates that only about 50% to 60% of US truck drivers have been fully vaccinated. Stephen Laskowsi, president of the Canadian Trucking Alliance, told The Wall Street Journal that a survey of Canadian truckers suggested that over 10% of truckers in the country aren't vaccinated.

Canada's vaccine mandate for truckers was imposed on Saturday. The new rules require US truckers to present proof of vaccination in order to cross the border, while Canadian truckers without a vaccine passport will be required to quarantine and take a COVID-19 test when they reenter from the US.

Last month I paid $2.49 for 24 bottles of water.
The same exact water package was $3.49 today at the store!

Fake dollar bills have been around like for ever. All fake documents work just fine until you get caught by law enforcement.

Had one of those cheap bags of chips this week. “’Only 1.99” became “only 2.99.” Plus “AOL commie news reports today, “Here’s four things Biden is doing right.” If a Republican is in power the media does all the snarling and outrage. Now, it’s up to us.

Yep you can grow fruit/veggies/etc. but most people
don’t have garden space nor the knowledge to do that.
Kinda hard to plow, till that concrete.

Yeah they do. Ever hear of greenhouses? You can grow pineapples on Baffin Island with them.

It’s hard to tell what’s more foolish.

Firing Healthcare workers in the middle of a pandemic or firing truckers who deliver food in the middle of a pandemic.

Hydroponics, rain gutter gardens, Tower Garden project, are just a few ways to grow on concrete. Youtube has tons of videos on how to make inexpensive hydroponic gardens. Cold area/ do it in your garage, basement, or where ever you can find to put it.
