After many rounds of rules targeting the unvaccinated, the chamber musician’s new life is unrecognizable from the old. Claudio Ronco once performed all over Europe, but now he can’t even board a plane. He can’t check into a hotel, eat at restaurant or get a coffee at a bar. Most important, he can’t use the water taxis needed to get around Venice, his home for 30 years — a loss of mobility that recently prompted him to gather up two of his prized cellos, lock up his Venetian apartment and retreat with his wife to a home owned by his in-laws one hour away in the hills.
“Isolation,” Ronco called it, on the fourth day in a row that he hadn’t left the house.
At this complicated stage of the pandemic, the lives of unvaccinated people are in major flux, at the mercy of decisions made everywhere from courts to workplaces. But their lives are changing most dramatically in a handful of countries in Western Europe, including Italy, where governments are systematically reducing their liberties, while beginning to return the rest of society to a state of normalcy. And while regular testing, until recently, was permitted as an alternative to vaccination, even that option has now been largely removed as countries harden their mandates. For people like Ronco, the choice is to get inoculated or face exclusion.
Ronco, 66, knows some people who have relented, including a fellow musician with three kids and a mortgage. He knows others who are scrambling for hard-to-get medical exemptions. But Ronco — an Orthodox Jew and a specialist in 18th-century music who tends to distrust the trends of the masses — figures this is an instance when he can try to withstand the mounting pressure. His savings are thinning, but not gone. His children

Well considering what’s out there in public life I’d soon rather ...
As things inevitably return to “normal” (whenever that is), we should simply boycott many of those places/organizations that were complicit in it. If these political leaders thought they were going to re-invent their cities with anti-white rhetoric, avoid them like the plague; if religious leaders wouldn’t fight for our right to avoid these experimental shots (or even assemble), de-fund them.
They’ll rue the day they let the elites destroy our liberties without a peep..
“At this complicated stage of the pandemic...”
Complicated how?
The “pandemic” is pretty much over — and was never nearly as horrible as it was made out to be.
Wait till not having the mark they demand you take will mean you cannot buy or sell, or maybe they cut your head off.
These Nazis need to be taken to the shed
He needs to escape to a free nation before it’s too late.
For what it’s worth, spring of 2020 was hairy here in the NYC metro area - primarily because flu treatments (which shouldn’t have been used) were killing patients and many weren’t using basic safety measures. It is certainly over now by comparison.
100%.
I’m interested to see what the WaPo has to say about this..
.. but I won’t give them the clicks.
It would seem the author isn’t totally convinced this should be this man’s reality.. but his service to the Washington compost tells me otherwise.
Is this author starting to change his mind?
In Revelation it is clear: they do not win. In fact they lose so bad that their leaders get to be in the Lake of Fire alone for a thousand years before anyone joins them.
Most people who become sick with COVID-19 will only experience mild illness and can recover at home. Symptoms might last a few days, and people who have the virus might feel better in about a week. Treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms and includes rest, fluid intake and pain relievers.
How ‘bout that? All that fuss…
Persecuting a Jewish guy? The Euros are Partying like it’s 1939!
They will realize the truth that you can vote your way into communism, but you'll have to fight your way out. Sadly, it might take a long, long time for them to realize this.
That's why so many died in New York.
The Javits Center and the Navy hospital ship remained empty just so Cuomo could stick his thumb in the eye of the guy who made them possible...President Trump.
Nazi Wapo alert.
“The “pandemic” is pretty much over”
My man, for some people it’ll never be over.....just like perceived racism, for some people there’s a whole lotta money to be made keepin’ it alive.
The alleged comments following the article are more disturbing. The ‘concern troll’ nature of the WaPo’s “readers” that are allowed to have their comments shown read like 1930s Germany.
We’re in for a hard future if there are truly people like this in the majority.
He needs to escape to a free nation before it’s too late.
Like where?
