Greg Abbott in Danger of Losing Losing GOP Governor Primary in Texas: Poll
MSN/Newsweek ^ | 1/13/2022 | Darragh Roche

"Texas Governor Greg Abbott is facing a potential defeat in the Republican gubernatorial primary, according to a new poll carried out for one his GOP opponents.

A Paradigm Partners poll published on Tuesday shows Abbott with just 32.52 percent support among likely Republican primary voters in the state, behind former Texas GOP chair Allen West on 38.36 percent.

The poll was conducted for West's campaign and differs starkly from other polls published late last year that appeared to show the Republican primary race was uncompetitive."

I will not vote for him in the Primary.

Same. The only way I'm voting Abbott is if he wins the primary.

No. That is all on ERCOT and the fact that Obama shut down the lignite coal powered plants in Texas when his EPA was destroying our energy sector. By the time Trump brought it back, there was still not enough power on the grid to withstand Snowpocolypse.

Abbott is a solid Gov.

“What does this mean? Someone from Texas please make a comment.“

It means his campaign is dead in the water and he is desperate to stay relevant. He has zero chance. He lost credibility by challenging a solid republican governor.

“We have to beat Beto. I love West but not sure how he will do in the general.“

He would get creamed in the general. I have lost all trust in him when he decided to put the state of Texas at risk by challenging Abbott. He talks a good talk but he is a snake. Also I’m not sure how he got a clean toxicology report for his wife but she was drunker than a skunk. She did not even pull over. she stopped in the middle of the road. You know who does that? Drunk people.

West immediately made this incident into a fake racial issue. He is done here in Texas.

“I think he botched the energy issue last winter.“

Totally agree but he knows it and is not going to let that happen again. Bottom line we cannot take a chance on anyone else right now. If we roll the dice and lose to Beto Texas is finished.

Abbott is a LOSER!!! Texas deserves far better. Texas deserves a governor like Florida’s Desantis. Texas doesn’t have a Desantis. Texas has a Democrat Lite governor. Long past time for this _ss clown to GO!!!

That Beto is a contender shows just how far Texas has fallen.

I’m so old I remember when Texans used to say they were going to secede from the union! And stuff like : “don’t mess with Texas!”

Within 10 years Texas will be every bit as liberal as San Francisco.

I sure wish they Made good on their near daily pledge to secede from the union

Abbott *should* be safely reelected given Texas’ awesome job gains and his stalwart resistance to the Faucists’ lockdowns, muzzle mandates, vaccine mandates, etc. West might do a “practice run” for the 2026 Texas primaries.

There’s always this kind of noise early on… Abbott will win easily.

West resigned from that position almost a year ago. Research before regurgitating.

The point is it appears he used the position as party chair to only prepare himself to take down the sitting Governor of the same party. Rather than helping others he was building relationships to help himself. I guess all’s fair in love and politics but it reeks of selfishness in my opinion. But thanks for letting me know he did at least resign right before announcing.

It’s all about name ID, which is why Beto is such a threat.

“Beta O’Cuck is not a serious, first-tier candidate. He had his shot in 2018 with the same gaslighting ultraleft media behind him 100%, and he still couldn’t win. He’s got even less of a chance in 2022, carrying the baggage of the child molester/pedophile occupying the White House.”

Except it wasn’t about Beto in 2018, it was about Cruz (for conservatives, particularly Cruz’s behavior at the Convention - I only voted for him that year because Trump implored me to do so - otherwise I would have left it blank). For 2022, if West is on the ballot, it will be about West, half the people voting for Beto will not know a thing about him (just as last time), but they will DESPISE West (thanks to our lovely media) - and West won’t have either the resources, track record, or name recognition to fight back - he will be EXACTLY what the media makes him, at least for the 50% of voters who still get their news from the networks.

Far different with Abbott...the media can’t do nearly as much damage to him.

It means Allen West will be the next governor of Texas.

Allen West will get destroyed in Texas as thoroughly as Larry Elder did in California. Mark this post.
