"Texas Governor Greg Abbott is facing a potential defeat in the Republican gubernatorial primary, according to a new poll carried out for one his GOP opponents.
A Paradigm Partners poll published on Tuesday shows Abbott with just 32.52 percent support among likely Republican primary voters in the state, behind former Texas GOP chair Allen West on 38.36 percent.
The poll was conducted for West's campaign and differs starkly from other polls published late last year that appeared to show the Republican primary race was uncompetitive."

Abbot is not great. Sometimes he actually is great. He is a nice person. He is pretty good in that office.
Anyone who cares to spend a moment considering the pressure in that job can see CCP, the border, POWWWER working to turn Texas blue. Abbott turned down bad voter machines. He has an ok Lt gov and a star as TX AG Ken Paxton.
That is in no way an excuse. Not at all. It is to say that the governor taking over that spot will have to be not a talker like Alan west or huffines but a proven do-er
West would have to prove he wouldn’t let the border deteriorate worse, that he would preserve elections, just to start. Powwwer wants them he next governor in tx to turn it blue.
