President Biden urged businesses to bring in vaccine mandates on their own and pushed states to 'do the right thing' after the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to block his sweeping rules on private companies in a crushing blow to his pandemic response.
The high court did however allow a vaccine mandate for employees at health care facilities receiving federal dollars to go into effect. Twenty-seven states had petitioned the Supreme Court to issue a stay on the rule while it is battled out in the judicial system.
It's the latest setback in a devastating 48 hours for Biden, who failed to get enough support among Senate Democrats to kill the filibuster and pass voting rights legislation.
He also saw his approval rating plummet to 33 percent in a Quinnipiac poll published Wednesday and inflation grow to its highest point in 40 years with a 7 percent price rise in December.
The conservative justices claim Biden's rule was over-broad and would have presented a 'significant encroachment' on the 'everyday lives -- and health -- of' the 84 million American workers that would have been impacted.

Stupid companies will try to enforce it and will lose talented employees.
Smart companies will pick up that talent and prosper.
I am waiting to see what my company will do. They sent out emails with a link so we can report our vaxx or novaxx status.
They really painted themselves into a corner as they specified and quoted the TES, proclaimed they were "following the law."

I not only saved all my emails but I recorded conversations I had with my boss and HR. Entirely legal in Arizona.
He will simply tell companies to do it on their own. That’s how fascism works. When something is forbidden to the government, “private” corporations will do it for them. If the corporations face lawsuits or other problems, the Government will protect them in return.
And when these airlines keep doing it, the Supremes will say no standing to anyone that sues, and free traitors will all bray “private business rules”.
Blue states will impose their own mandates. Count on it.
Betcha Washington State and Reichfuhrer Inslee will be among the first if not THE first to do their own state vaxx mandate for businesses.

This has always been a tenth amendment issue. Jacobson vs Mass has for over 100 years codified in law the right of the individual sovereign states to require vaccinations within their borders. The Court absolutely got this right. If a blue state via their representative governments as elected decide that they wish to require additional vaccinations that is their plenary power via the tenth. Remember the states already require vaccinations to do certain activities such as attend public schools or universities this has been settled law for well over 100 years. I fully expect some of the blue states to use their public health care right under Jacobson vs Mass to implement state level mandates the USSC won’t even hear a case on that they will point to existing precedence and deny standing.
