Senate Republicans are threatening they will attempt a takeover of the Senate agenda by forcing votes on issues ranging from the Keystone XL pipeline to abortion rules to a U.S-Mexico border wall if Democrats weaken the filibuster.
Republicans are also looking at smaller bills such as a proposal to prohibit the administration from imposing a fracking ban by executive order, a prohibition on the IRS implementing new reporting on banks to disclose individuals’ banking activity and mandatory detention for illegal immigrants who commit serious crimes.

They didn’t do anything when they had a majority and the presidency. Why would they do something now?
Hell, they didn’t do anything when they controlled Congress in 1995, 2001, and 2017.
Only if it saves his own neck.

Things that should already be.
Exactly so.
They have to in order to be able to punish them with this action. The filibuster has not yet been weakened and they are trying to prevent that action. They would have free reign without cloture being able to block votes if the filibuster is done away with.
Alright guys, who lent the Senate Republicans his balls?

Great song from a great band.
I still have that album.

Those Republican pit bulls are off the leash and there is no telling what the opposition will look like after they get through with them. /S
Phase two: GOP gives up totally.
RE:I wouldn’t depend on McConnell to follow through on anything that takes any courage.

Mitch: I am absolutely not the Cowardly Lion.
(I’m the cowardly Turtle but don’t let anyone hear that.”
The GOP has the communists shivering in their boots!.../s
If Reps take the Senate at midterm, McConnell should offer to eliminate the filibuster as his first vote. Watch how many demons vote yes.
They should have been doing that all along.
I could only read the first ten posts before I wanted to puke.
CAN’T SOME PEOPLE TAKE A GOOD IDEA WITHOUT FINDING THE ABSOLUTE WORST POSSIBLE REASON FOR IT, OR TO IT, OR IN IT.
THE REPs WANT TO DO SOMETHING THAT WILL STOP THIS CRAZINESS IN ITS TRACKS, BUT NOOOOOOOOOO, LET’S ALL TALK ABOUT HOW BAD, DISGUSTING, STUPID, WORTHLESS, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS.
FELLOW FREEPERS: THIS IS ALL WE HAVE.
IF YOU WANT TO ALIANATE THEM, GO AHEAD, BUT SOMETIMES IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH ...NOTHING...NOTHING THEY DO WILL SATISFY.
Well, guess what, I am thrilled they have come up with ideas on how to counter the freakin’ dims and I say, God Speed. Give it a try.
Everything they do has to get a YAWN or skanky, clever, insulting talk.
It’s sickiening.
“Republicans are also looking at smaller bills ...”
EVERY bill should be a “smaller bill”
Agree with your assessment; but they only want to fight in reaction to the oppressors - way past time to be on the offensive. If all those issue/policy votes are such a threat to maintaining power why hold back! Dems threaten the filibuster and we threaten with them taking a stand on policy decisions that are killing people economically, physically and spiritually. Playing games with Senate rules? They should have the votes anyway; put them all on record for every decision LGB has made.
The filibuster rule gives EVERY Senator huge power. Without it a Senator is no more powerful than a Houe member. Manchin is not the only Senator to realize that.
The Dems are trying to pose this as a limited, non-financial exception- but it isn’t so, isn’t possible.
Oh, nose! It’s just like January 6! Republicans having an agenda. Run!!!!
Nobody imagined that Jiden would move so quickly on an agenda he had claimed to oppose or at least not support. That’s the problem with the Republicans. They have no imagination.
