They need to keep our money longer to pay for Biden’s boondoggles...

My son filed last January and didn’t get his refund until mid October.

Refund?? What the hell is that? Being self employed I PAY them what I owe and not a penny more, I do NOT pay quarterly either, they fine me $100 every year for not doing so, but I write the check for the full amount every April.

Didn’t the IRS just hire a million new people to go after people ,LOL

They're busy poking around in your couch cushions looking for $600 in loose change.

Maybe move some staff from the political persecution department to processing returns?

Juss wait! People who took all that “FREE” handout money will have to claim it.

This is gonna backfire on the Sh@ts and Giggles administration.

My favorite is when loaned Brandon money for a year, pay H&R Block or someone loan-shark level interest (”fees”) to get their own money back a couple weeks sooner with a “refund anticipation loan” when they could have had it, for free, a year ago. D’oh!

AND risk that when it’s return time, the goobermint will be in a shutdown, which causes them to put refunds on hold (never mind that it’s not budgeted money, it’s sending back cash the taxpayer already had).

I’ve never been dependent on a tax refund.

Several years ago I designated a couple thousand in overpayments to be rolled over against next year’s taxes...and turns out that I did need that cushion.

But the surprise was receiving an interest income statement from the IRS for the 5% interest they were paying ME on that “loan”.

The IRS was paying better than any banks!

I filed my paper return in September, USPS tracking shows delivered October 4, 2021. I have not heard back and the return is not showing up in my SSI account. The IRS website has this notice:

Coronavirus Mail Processing Delays It’s taking us longer to process mailed documents including:

Paper tax returns, and All tax return related correspondence. We are processing all mail in the order we received it.

Do not file a second tax return or call the IRS.

60,000 more IRS agents and a few billion dollars should fix the problem. /sarc

Anyone that allows the government to get an interest-free loan throughout the year and then wait for a “refund” is stupid beyond belief.
