New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Sunday defended his decision to name his brother, former NYPD police officer Bernard Adams, as a deputy NYPD commissioner.
Though he acknowledged a city ethics panel will “make the determination” on whether there’s a conflict of interest over bringing on his brother for the job, Adams argued it’s necessary given the threat he faces from “white supremacy.”
“Let me be clear on this: My brother is qualified for the position. Number one, he will be in charge of my security, which is extremely important to me at a time when we see an increase in white supremacy and hate crimes,” he told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”
“I have to take my security in a very serious way,” the mayor added.
During a press conference on Sunday, Adams went into more detail about why he chose his brother.
“Protection is personal. You have an increase of anarchists in this city, country. We have a serious problem with white supremacy. And when you talk about this type of security that I want, it’s extremely unique. I don’t want to be away from my public,” he said.

After all, we all know that New York City is a bastion of white supremacy. Why I could not even get my Christmas shopping done on Fifth Avenue last month for all the white sheeted KKK members blocking my way.
I didn’t think it was possible, but this race baiting clown may be able to out DeBkasio DeBlasio. Good luck with your new mayor, New York. You’re going to need it.
Not just the political makeup, but don’t doubt for a second they’ll become a very loud block for extra government spending and direct payments to individuals.
Pretty sure if it were such a YUGE problem, this assclown would never made it the (s)elected position he now holds. Fidiot!
Re[lacing one dipsh*t for another dipsh*t.
The typical New York rinse and repeat.....doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results have turned NY into an utter sh*thole. Long live the sh*thole.
“More than 70% of the people voted for him, and 85% voted for the insane DA.”

What is wrong with people in NYC?
I searched high and low for a job description for a NYPD deputy commissioner but did not find anything.
But I bet dollars to donuts he is in charge of any investigations dealing with the mayor. Since he is charge of the mayor’s security then he will have complete knowledge of any public or internal NYPD ‘threats’ pertaining to the mayor.
There "proof" is that there are still white people in state offices, as judges, as politicians, as police officer, in the military, in government jobs...
LOL, meet the new boss, worse than the old boss.
Sure, there is definitely an increase in hate crimes.. But, ALL of it is coming from the black community..
It's funny how we are slowly regressing back into mud huts, and they call it progressivism.. :(
There are good cops and there are a few bad cops. But one bad cop is a VERY BAD THING. They have authority, they believe they have even more authority than the actually have and they and they have their “blue wall of brethren” who give them the benefit of the doubt or turn a blind eye.
This situation with Adams is going to have huge, bad repercussions. Hopefully, he is removed from office...one way or another.
Absolutely racist.
NYC elected him, I didn’t. They got what they wanted.
Hilarious. Geniuses still in charge of NYC it seems.
Just another racist bastard. NYC is a basket case with no hope in sight.
Ask Mike how trusting Fredo worked out.
This is why the NYPD captains union refused to endorse Adams, a captain, for mayor.
White people are scary......as Jim Healy used to say...Riiiiighhttt......
Sounds like he is a racist too. 🙃😊
