Dominick Black, 20, of Kenosha, has agreed to plead no contest to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a non-criminal citation. He had faced two felony charges of delivering a dangerous weapon to a minor, resulting in death.
Black allegedly purchased the assault rifle Rittenhouse used to kill two people and wound a third during August 2020 protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
On Friday, Black's attorney and assistant district attorney Thomas Binger reached and filed a proposed plea agreement, which suggested Black would plead no contest to a pair of citations and pay a $2,000 fine, and the felony counts would be dismissed.
His plea hearing is scheduled for Monday morning. However, Judge Bruce Schroeder - who presided over the Rittenhouse trial - could still reject the deal or possibly dismiss the original felony counts based on his ruling about the minors-with-firearms law in the Rittenhouse case.
Black was 18 when he purchased a rifle for Rittenhouse in May 2020 at a hardware store in Rusk County. Rittenhouse, then a minor, was too young to legally purchase the weapon himself.
Black was charged in November 2020 with two counts of delivering a dangerous weapon to a minor, resulting in death.
However, the status of Black's charges remained up in the air after Schroeder agreed to throw out one of the charges against Rittenhouse - that he unlawfully possessed a firearm as a minor.
The defense convinced Schroeder that an exception in the law allows 17-year-olds to possess rifles and shotguns, or at least left the law too vague to be enforceable.
Black's attorney, Anthony Cotton, is hopeful Schroeder will accept the negotiated plea agreement, adding that his client 'already testified under oath as to all the factual basis'.

Kyle can pay him back after he gets a $500 million payout...
Two different things.
Actually “ resulting in death” pretty much covers both descriptions.
Legally buys gun for a person who can legally own it.
Then the person uses the gun in a legal manner breaking no
laws.
Does the state require a kid to buy is own gun? That’s the
only possible infraction I can think of. If not, there is
no violation of law here.
malicious prociution
Contributing to self defense is not contributing to delinquency. If reach by the prosecutor hence the slap on the wrist.
Since Rittenhouse was found not guilty, just what is the delinquent act he committed that resulted in Black being charged? I thinks the prosecutor just hates him because he’s Black.
Straw purchases of firearms are illegal under Federal law though.
Not sure what his crime was but giving a 17-year old a weapon to defend himself is not a crime in Wisconsin last I heard.
Kyle is now 18 but in his area of the country, 17 year olds can carry.
It’s an out. He could defend it and assuming the judgment is honest, win, but it would cost him more than $2000, possibly much more. It’s easy to say you’d defend your innocence to the last penny but we’re living in a corrupt real world populated by malicious, politically motivated prosecutors with nothing to lose and reputation to gain. And they get paid either way.
Was he paid for this gun?
Black is not being black?
How can he possibly not be Black?
A very curious situation....
Whatta bout subsequent transfers between private parties?
He will be a felon and never be able to own a gun
Yet another reason to ‘Nifong’ them.
100%!!!
In my opinion it was wise for him to accept the plea deal - it’s best to try to stay out of lockup for as long as possible especially if your face has been splashed all over the media. And I’m sure Mr Rittenhouse won’t forget him when it starts raining money.
Allowed of course, but it comes down to what a judge and jury believe. You buy a gun today and immediately sell it to a buddy who's too young to buy one it's going to be a hard sell.
Interestingly, it is perfectly legal to buy a gun for another person as a gift. If you can show that you used your own money and weren't compensated when you gave it to them then it's legal. That of course assumes it's legal for that person to own a gun.
I was just watching a video on this subject the other day. See:
