Virginia's outgoing Democratic governor, Ralph Northam, faced multiple calls for his resignation following a blackface scandal in 2019, with Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., demanding Northam step down. Yet Northam did not resign, and Kaine recently said he was "glad" the governor remained in office.

“. . . and Kaine recently said he was “glad” the governor remained in office.”
That's because the political charge of racism is only intended to be used as a weapon against Republicans or someone an elite Democrat doesn't like.
Blue culture is not really opposed to ethnocentrism, otherwise they would not support using race to allocate - say health care - to certain racial groups in a preferential manner as a matter of public policy.
The charge of racism is a gimmick; a sick one, but a genuine gimmick.

I’m glad he didn’t, we would have ended up with Gov. Rapist.

Is Kaine trying to cover for Northam in his last days, since he was stuck in the 95 incident that might’ve been prevented or greatly lessened if Northam was more proactive?

Not to mention that you wouldn’t want Dems to start setting a dangerous precedent by showing contrition! Why, a thing like that could accidentally snowball into actual decency and then where would the party be; hmm?

Democrats don’t eat their own. And why should anyone resign over that?
To: ChicagoConservative27
He was able to be blackmailed and controlled against a large majority of the people. Kaine loves it.
