Murphy declares state of emergency ahead of snow storm

Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency to take effect for all of New Jersey to take effect at 10 p.m. Thursday, when a nor'easter is expected to dump 3-6 inches of snow across the area.
The emergency order will include travel restrictions on highways, specifically banning commercial truck traffic on interstates that run through central and south New Jersey into Pennsylvania, and urges all residents to stay home through Friday.

Who remembers back in the day when “state of emergency” was declared by people who lived through the depression and a world war or two and didn’t do it at the drop of a hat.
Yes, I know, a few people are going to spin out on the highway. There may even be a few fatalities on the road or some house fire. It’s not something to scoff at on a personal level, but it’s not a “state of emergency”

Had several that size and one 12 inch snow hardly slows me down.

If he sits on his butt and "declares an emergency" then nobody has to DO anything to actually PREPARE for the storm....like:
Lay down de-icer (like we do in Colorado),
Line up snow plows and an overtime crew,
Place State Patrol on overtime, etc....

Just a convenient way for them to leverage more control and dependency.
They have to look like they care and are doing “something”, other wise the lib/progs that vote for them will get upset.
