President Biden on Monday will roll out a new plan to target a handful of meatpacking companies that control the bulk of the nation's supply, months after his administration accused the conglomerates of facilitating anti-competitive behavior that has caused meat and poultry prices to skyrocket.
Biden will join Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and Attorney General Merrick Garland for a virtual White House meeting with farmers and ranchers to announce the administration's plan to tackle rising prices and boost competition industry-wide, including $1 billion in federal funding from the coronavirus relief package to help expand independent meat and poultry processing capacity.
The White House will also dedicate funding to train workers in the industry and improve conditions, and establish stricter rules for meatpackers that use a "Product of USA" designation to ensure consumers are aware of where the meat is coming from.

I figure we’re *this* close to saying “Why, yes, I would like more soy-bacon wrapped fillet mulch, please.”
As with everything else, Biden is the Reverse King Midas, everything he touches will turn to feces. Sorry, Plugs, your sleight of hand magic trick distraction attempt isn’t working. You are the WORST president ever ever EVER and even YOU know that. You can’t change that subject.
I keep saying it over and over, the Marxist domestic enemy occupiers are deliberately trying to cause a food shortage. They’re using the clot shot excuse to get rid of truckers and now their going after the food.
More like Biden Beats His Meat.
Look up “Clinton” and “Tyson”.
I sure am glad the gubmint is looking out for me so that I know where meat comes from.
Sure is nothing like more regulations to make prices come down.
Everywhere but the White Hospice's groaning buffet tables, and Nazi Pelosi's dacha...
Headline should read... "MEATHEAD PLANS TO ATTACK MEAT INDUSTRY!"
Government is the problem via the USDA meat inspection that is the bottleneck for small independent processing operations.
We don’t need a billion dollars in subsidies, we need the USDA boot off our neck. Simply turning meat inspection back over to the states would solve the problem instantly and for free.
“help expand independent meat and poultry processing capacity”
Likely, to introduce a lot of foreign labor (either via massed border jumping or the importation).
Otherwise, there is not likely to be some plot by the majors, when the supply of meat and the necessary supply of feed, were obviously running at a good pace throughout 2021 (except when rain interferred).
There was a bump that did raise the cost of processing: President Biden cut off some of the the energy supply, and that was followed by increasing prices.
Was just by WM this morning. They had over twenty huge prime rib roasts still for sale. In prior years these were usually sold out before Christmas. People just aren’t buying them..
Milton Friedman, please pick up the white courtesy phone.

I surmise that the Chicago mob and it’s affiliates and the Chinese government own and control the conglomerates that comprise the American meat industry. Jobama marches to their tune so one can be assured if Jobama is going to claim to look into why meat prices are skyrocketing, one can be sure prices will continue to skyrocket. Political smoke and mirrors and the DC double down is the rule!
And beef on the hoof is still less than a buck forty a pound.
45% yield or so from a beef on the hoof.
Do the math. 1/.45x1.4=$3.11 a pound for the farm contribution to cost
I see ground beef is $4.50 to $5.00 a pound now. I just don’t see how they butcher, package and market for $1.40 to $1.90 a pound. Not to mention higher priced cuts.
Some sarcasm.
.
They refuse to learn. They’re setting the stage for the purge of the kulaks.
I predict they will identify certain “economic zones” where meat prices are controlled. Just another means of income redistribution.
Ask the dumb sheet where he lives....prolly don't no that either.
We right now,,are in danger by are enemies, and Let's Go Brandon is one of them.
Is it just me or does some of this looks like a way to get more jobs for illegal aliens?
