Reading comments on this thread so far, it seems people are grasping at straws to find an argument why Trump should not be nominated.  Age is not a factor in a obviously vigorous and mentally sharp man like Trump.

Try as hard as they like, the GOPe, Republican National Committee, and all the Golden Sachs "bought-and-paid-for" puppets and Nikki puppette will never stop a Trump nomination.  Why?  Because Trump is an American ex-President with a stellar record.  He's not another Republican, Democrat or Uniparty politician.

Trump has taken Republican voters away from the GOPe because they failed to deliver for DECADES.  Trump is on top because he DELIVERED, big time.  Besides, Trump is still a young man with the heart of a lion.

I have been preaching to the same choir.

I knew they would not let him have a 2nd term during last election and knew the steal was a given.

I agree. These executive orders are out of control. Bush used a lot of e e orders, but a lot of them were related to 9/11, iraq, etc. That is, they probably could have gone through the legislative process, but it would have been time consuming under those conditions.

And then, after Bush, they just kept on coming and now they’re nothing but the acts of a dictator.

Vaccine support is hurting him.

Choice support is helping him.

Trump did what he could and I thought he was an excellent president … but you don’t step into the same river twice, and things have moved on (in a disastrous direction). He can’t repeat his first term because things are different, and we certainly don’t need him obsessing on the wrongs that were done to him, either during his term or with the continuing persecution launched by the Dems. He’s absolutely right to be angry and fight back, but that’s not going to be a winning electoral platform.

He’s got to move on, and I don’t think he will.

Correct on all points IMO.
There has been no other President with the vision & gumption. Perfect, no way. Best possible, absolutely.
Count him out to your peril and to America’s loss.

People have been whinging that Trump is finished since the 2020 election season. They have always been wrong and are wrong again today. No one has galvanized Americans like Donald Trump because his vision for America empowers all Americans. He fights for us. Trump has a track record of success and has now exposed much of the rot at the heart of Government. That sunshine will shrivel the evil doers, self servers, phonies and Globalists. Trump’s next term will be his best term.

You post irrelevant cliches. You can’t live by cliches. Each day is a new day and Trump is still the man to be our President, river or no river.
By your logic we would have no two term Presidents and on your second step in the river you are in a new river because the water has flowed on, fish have swam, gnats have been eaten. But yet, the river is still the same, ever changing but still the same because the totality and the continuum is the river.

Actually, focusing on Trump's age is really the wrong way to look at it. He can't be compared to Biden solely on age, as Trump is a great deal more vigorous and coherent. He's as sharp as he was fifty years ago.

And considering that Trump would only be able to serve one term, his rightful second term would be an excellent time to allow him to finish what he was starting to do in his first term, after the Mueller nonsense, and before the COVID attack from China. He could also set us on a path with a solid successor, whoever that might be. DeSantis, of course, is high on that list.

If I can have a second bit of the apple... the other problem with your post is that “Trump needs to move on”.
Absolutely not.
The cheating in the 2020 election was an epiphany. Things can not be allowed to continue because “we’ll do better next time”. For the salvation of America the cheat cannot be allowed to succeed. Elections need to be fair and transparent and wrong doing cannot be allowed to reap rewards. America needs these people to be held accountable.
If that is not a winning platform for you then you “go gentle into that good night”. Americans need a fighter not a “go along” “get along” “accept the reality” (graft loving) pol.

Lest we forget, Trump is the essential candidate. He’s a billionaire, so he’s not suseptable to the blandishments of power.

He has the funds to defend himself from the lawfare that has, and will be, used against him.

Also, he has the money to provide security for himself and his family, in perpetuity if necessary. So he’s impervious to pressure, unlike SCOTUS.

Finally, if he does harp on the stolen 2020 election, it will draw people to vote for him. America sides with someone who’s been wronged.

But I agree that just based on popular perception, it would be better to have a younger candidate.

The best solution is for DeSantis to run as VP, because if Trump runs and the election is not totally bogus he will win no matter who the do-nothing Gope present.

When the author used “septuagenarian”, it meant Biden. At least that’s how most of us interpreted it.

Well....yes....that’s now....in 2024 the very OLDEST but hey, who’s counting.... And the wording of the sentence in which it is used is not entirely clear, IMO re: differentiating explicitly between RR and FJB, frankly.

Just for Sh*ts and Giggles I searched on Bing for “most demented Presidents” of the 5 that came up in first place, not one of them was Biden. But of course, RR was because that’s how Democrats roll...

As time goes by as we approach 2024, I was thinking that it is Trump’s election to lose.

But...I’m now thinking that this is DeSantis’ election to lose.

Trump is getting old, he failed in his first term to wound the Deep State, he is pushing the vaccines although short of mandates, and he is OUT OF TOUCH with the huge task it is to make war on the Federal Government’s overreach.

The young lion DeSantis has an opportunity to topple the king, who is at the end of his run. And yet, also commend him for all his accomplishments thus far.

Circle of Life.
