“Hebrew Israelite religious faith” -— I believe that is a wacky, hateful black cult.
This Coach would try and force Jesus Christ to eat non kosher food.
What an asswhole
Sounds like another “Clock Boy” hoping for a big payday.
“…millions of dollars in damages…”? I think not.
A heartfelt apology, maybe.
Amazing what passes for national news these days.
How exactly does a coach ‘force’ someone to eat? Gunpoint? Open their piehole and shove it in?
So, I’m not saying this didn’t happen.
And I’m not saying that the world has no idiots dumb enough to actually create this situation.
But, it’s 2022. We’re in the midst of a Woke epidemic.
If some idiot says, “Hey, kid! Eat this pepperoni pizza or else!! You want to be on the team, don’t you??” then how much genuine pressure does that put on someone?
Basic response: “I’m Jewish. Pepperoni is a forbidden food. If you try to make me do that, I will sue the ever-living crap out of you and out of this school. So knock it off.”
Why couldn’t the kid “diffuse” the situation that way?
But again: If the kid tried to make it clear, and some idiot insisted on being an idiot, then I guess the kid is going to be very rich.
But I don’t know why that stuff happens in 2022.
This was back in the 1970s.
I have since recovered.
No-one has the right to make any-one eat any-thing for any-reason ... period!
Same for anything else that goes in your body ... like the jab!
but that they ordered him to eat the pizza as punishment for missing an offseason workout...

This doesn’t pass the sniff test. Since when would eating pizza be considered a punishment?
His position on the team was more important than his religion.
I bet that coach can’t have a Bible on his desk nor can the team say a prayer on the field before a game or practice but this kid wants million$ for pepperoni grease.
Kid probably secretly eats pizza all the time.
the kid was late for pre-season practice. the coach could have just cut the kid.
i don’t buy the made up religion.
Obviously not a Pastafarian.
He just should have refused; his religious belief doesn’t’ seem that strong.
The coaches say the player chose to remove pepperoni and eat the pizza rather than an alternative food. They weren’t aware it violated his religious beliefs, according to a defamation case they filed previously against the teen’s father, his attorney and school officials.
Gee. Why would anyone believe 18 witnesses against one student's family attempting to get a big payout?
