I posted in another thread today that my mother used to make me pizza with English muffins, Hunts tomato sauce and Kraft shredded cheese.

This was back in the 1970s.

I have since recovered.

BTW - My kids grew up eating those regularly too. Although in Southern Arizona, we sometimes use a flour tortilla and toast them in the oven instead. Kind of an open-faced Italian Quesadilla.

At my school cafeteria they dumped greasy hamburger meat (mostly gristle) cooked with canned tomatoes over a stale piece of white bread and called it “pizza”. No cheese. No seasoning.

We did the same thing with sourdough bread. It wasn’t that bad.
