The change will lead to approximately 48,000 troops missing out on the stipend

The Department of Defense (DoD) announced last week that troops in 15 metropolitan areas and 21 non-metropolitan counties in the continental United States will be cut off from a cost-of-living allowance starting Jan. 1.

The change will lead to approximately 48,000 troops missing out on the Continental United States Cost-of-Living Allowance (CONUS COLA), according to Stars and Stripes.

Approximately 6,000 service members will remain recipients of the $8.5 million that the Pentagon allocated for the stipend, which is given to troops who are stationed at excessively expensive locations in the lower 48.

The 2022 list comprises 20 non-metropolitan counties and six metropolitan areas, which include New York City, Long Island, and Staten Island in New York; Nantucket, Mass.; Boulder, Colo.; and San Francisco, Calif.

The COLA rate is based on information gathered by a contractor, which analyzes cost of transportation, goods and services, federal income taxes, sales taxes, and miscellaneous expenses, according to the DoD.

A location becomes eligible for COLA when non-housing costs exceed 8% above the national average.

Among the locations that were cut in 2022 is the Washington, D.C., area, where troops had received a 1% supplement in 2021. Stipends for troops in Boston and Worcester, Mass., also got the ax.

“Meanwhile border crossers get free airfare, housing, food and debit cards for life.”

It’s just compensation. And the money to do it has to come from somewhere.

Congress will cut compensation to military personnel while they give billions of $ to our enemies, illegal aliens, lobbyists and mega corporations, and then give themselves and their staff members a raise.

These people are f*cking evil and corrupt go their bottom of their soulless hearts.

World War II was run by FOUR TOP GENERALS... NOW WE HAVE CLOSE TO 50.

And the ones we have can’t win a war. Can’t keep the peace or ‘prove themselves in ONE damn stone age sh*thole like Afghanistan... And they left 85 billion dollars worth of weapons behind for Afghans to sell or trade to China..

My suggestion? Cut top Generals back to FOUR. Take the savings, divide it up and give it to the people who really are defending the country.

And yet, these troops would fire on American citizens if so directed by the CIC.

Well, you know, that’s really not true. Every division had two general officers—one Maj Gen and a Brig Gen deputy (and there were almost 100 divisions), as well as every AAF Numbered Air Force (there were 10), and each Marine division, and lots of flag officers in the Navy commanding task forces and fleets. There were Army Groups and even whole Armies, each were led by multiple stars.

Those Flag Officers were vital subordinates to the higher level commanders. Sure, Marshall and King in Washington, Eisenhower was on top in Europe, MacArthur and Adm Nimitz in the Pacific, but lets not forget all the notable subordinates—Halsey, Spruance, Kenny, Patton, Clark, Bradley, Ridgeway, Spaatz, Chennault, Gavin, Stillwell, Dolittle, Fletcher, Holland Smith, Vandergrift.... And many more.

The idea of the perfumed Pentagon Prince, pencil pushing megamind was a cold war phenomenom (I was there 1984-91—so glad to finally break out!).

He means the administration needs more money for Obamaphones, so they have to cut military expenses to cover them.
