US Navy Warship Pauses Deployment After COVID-19 Outbreak Among ‘100 Percent Immunized’ Crew

A U.S. Navy warship has paused its deployment to South America due to a COVID-19 outbreak among its “100 percent immunized” crew, the Navy announced on Christmas Eve.

“USS Milwaukee (LCS 5), a Freedom variant littoral combat ship, remains in port as some Sailors test positive for COVID-19,” the U.S. 4th Fleet said in a statement.

“The crew is 100 percent immunized and all COVID-19 positive Sailors are isolated on board and away from other crew members. A portion those infected have exhibited mild symptoms. The vaccine continues to demonstrate effectiveness against serious illness.”

The ship currently remains in port at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, located at the southeastern end of Cuba.

The U.S. 4th Fleet’s statement did not quantify the number of those infected, nor how many among them are exhibiting mild symptoms.

The specific COVID-19 variant has yet to be determined.

OF COURSE NOT!

They NEVER give us the “details” we NEED to be able to make informed decisions.

That’s because if they did, NO ONE would get their deadly USELESS vaxxines!

re: “Since it’s shutdown, what do you call it at or near the speed-o-dark?”

Parked. (If not towed to the impound lot.)

Most of those sailors are going to be boosted by this point as well.

Look at the picture of the ship. The photo purports to be current. The appearance and inferred condition of the ship from the appearance is shameful.

I wonder what the Branch Covidians have to say about this. They will probably claim disinformation.

Let me opine.

I am not rabid anti-vax.

I am rabidly mRNA COVID anti-vax.

I never got the annual flu shots because they too were dangerous and did not work. They were NOT near as dangerous as the mRNA jabs, a whole new level of dangerous.

I did have all the childhood shots and I remember getting the Polio vaccines.

I remember getting the Smallpox vaccines in 1955 and 1961 for foreign trips. I regularly, always have, (throughout my working life), gotten Tetanus shots (every ten years or so).

I have in recent years, gotten the pneumonia and shingles shots.

Soooo, there are those here, I’m sure, who would categorize me as rabidly “anti-vax” and they would be just as WRONG as they are about the COVID JABS.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt in March of 2020. Out of a crew of 4800, one died and (as I recall) 2 others were hospitalized.

In early 2020 an entire CV was shut down. At this time no so-called vaccine available. Out of 4779 crew there was one fatality. No information about any co-morbidities for this fatality.

Timeline: Theodore Roosevelt COVID-19 Outbreak Investigation

Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly relieves Crozier of command, citing “extremely poor judgment.” Navy launches investigation into the command climate around the outbreak.

An Outbreak of Covid-19 on an Aircraft Carrier

BACKGROUND

An outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) occurred on the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier with a crew of 4779 personnel.

METHODS

We obtained clinical and demographic data for all crew members, including results of testing by real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR). All crew members were followed up for a minimum of 10 weeks, regardless of test results or the absence of symptoms.

RESULTS

The crew was predominantly young (mean age, 27 years) and was in general good health, meeting U.S. Navy standards for sea duty. Over the course of the outbreak, 1271 crew members (26.6% of the crew) tested positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection by rRT-PCR testing, and more than 1000 infections were identified within 5 weeks after the first laboratory-confirmed infection. An additional 60 crew members had suspected Covid-19 (i.e., illness that met Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists clinical criteria for Covid-19 without a positive test result). Among the crew members with laboratory-confirmed infection, 76.9% (978 of 1271) had no symptoms at the time that they tested positive and 55.0% had symptoms develop at any time during the clinical course. Among the 1331 crew members with suspected or confirmed Covid-19, 23 (1.7%) were hospitalized, 4 (0.3%) received intensive care, and 1 died. Crew members who worked in confined spaces appeared more likely to become infected.

CONCLUSIONS

SARS-CoV-2 spread quickly among the crew of the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt. Transmission was facilitated by close-quarters conditions and by asymptomatic and presymptomatic infected crew members. Nearly half of those who tested positive for the virus never had symptoms.

Panic mode over an unidentified number with mild symptoms. What would we do if there was a real war with a real enemy?

“”a Freedom variant littoral combat ship””

I thought that was either a mistake or we found a new “variant” of COVID 19. Appears to be the real name for that kind of ship.

"The vaccine continues to demonstrate effectiveness against serious illness.”

Considering how those at their age and (presumed) condition have such low incidence of serious cases, the line should read, The God-given antibody system continues to demonstrate effectiveness against serious illness.”

COVID-19 is real and a serious threat overall to those in poor health, and especially the aged, as the CDC reported that more than 81% of COVID-19 deaths occur in people over age 65, and with the number of deaths among people over age 65 being 80 times higher than the number of deaths among people aged 18-29.[1] However, obesity — which over 42% of Americans are — along with high blood pressure and diabetes (which tend to be related to obesity) are leading comorbidities in Covid-assigned deaths (and obesity itself is estimated to be attributable to 2,800,000 deaths in America over a 10 year period — at 280,000 per year).

As of Nov. 18 (as well as at the original time of this writing on 12/10/21), the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) — which is the percentage of Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. out of the total number of cases — is 1.6%, and which includes all people of all ages and conditions. Based on statistics from between the beginning of January 2020 and December 8, 2021,the CFR for those aged 0-17 calculates (Y is what % of X) to 0.01% (644 deaths out of 6,310,536 cases); and for those aged 18-29 the CFR is 0.05% (4,700 deaths out of 8,667,566 cases); for ages 30-39 it is 0.21% (13,882 deaths out of 6,697,096 cases); for ages 40-49 it is 0.58% (33,706 deaths out of 5,832,777 cases); for ages 50-64 it is 1.88% (145,247 deaths out of 7,717,656 cases); but for the ages of 65-74 it jumps to 6.21% (178,912 deaths out of 2,880,341 cases); and for the combined ages of 75 and all those who are older then it leaps to 18.43% (411,177 deaths out of 2,231,117 cases). Sources: Statista; CDC on 12/10/21.

Therefore based upon statistics on those aged 0-64 who were tested as being infected with Covid and found or judged as having died from it, then the CFR is 0.56% (198,179 deaths out of 35,225,631 cases, or 1 out of 180). In contrast, for those ages 65 and up the CFR rises to 11.54% (590,089 deaths out of 5,111,458 cases, combined). For comparison, the odds of dying in a motor vehicle accident are 1 in 107 (0.93%) and your chances of getting into a motor vehicle accident are one in 366 (0.27%) for every 1,000 miles driven. And thus despite headlines of exceptions, for the fit and healthy the odds of dying from Covid-19 are very minimal.

When I was in the Navy, after Class A School graduation, everyone was ordered to get their combo of vaccines for deployment all over the world. Didn’t matter WHERE you were going, everyone got the combo shots.

Well I was in the reserves and NOT being deployed anywhere right then. I was going home for up to six months.

So did I get the combo jabs? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I don't recall any Navy ships standing down with unvaccinated crews which is strange

The LCS monohull ships have such small crews (75 max) that routine maintenance work is handled by contractors during port calls. The medical staff on board may have reverted to WWII submarine levels - a Pharmacist's Mate with keys to the medicine cabinet.

that’s exactly what I was thinking, pre-covid, colds and the flu or some other type of ailment had to spread on a ship with everyone in close contact, I don’t ever remember hearing of a USN Ship getting sidelined over some ailment.

People pre-covid went to work sick every day of the week, in and out of the military.

It’s time to recognize that the vaccine is not a vaccine but something that might keep you from getting a severe case of Covid, other than that it does not stop the spread, pass out the sudafed or better yet the Ivermectin and get on with the job...

“The vaccine continues to demonstrate effectiveness against serious illness.”

A canned sentence they have to include in everything now. Just like “Man made climate change”, or “Undermining our democracy”.

When will they admit it? “Euthanized by immunization” is the idea; but we need a fancier word.

Time for China to move on Taiwan—they just need a new flu to take out the men on our ships. One inflected sailor could take out a carrier.

The program was a complete failure and canceled. Littoral ships can’t do jack. Another one size fits all billion dollar mistake.
