Yes, there are 2 variants of the LCS - the Freedom and Independence classes.
Both are aluminium hulls, and not very thoughtful of a design.
I’d rather have some more Arleigh Burke DDG’s and more Tico CGN’s, but I don’t get to be SecNav.
The Freedom class looks rather conventional. The Independence class ships just look weird.
