Right-wing podcast host Candace Owens says former president Donald Trump’s recent vocal support for Covid-19 vaccines can be explained by his generation’s experience with inoculations and his lack of familiarity with the internet.
During an appearance on Owens’ podcast and YouTube show on Wednesday, Mr Trump defended the effectiveness of the jabs in preventing hospitalisation and death.
After Owens — who has called the lifesaving vaccines “pure evil” and claimed that one would “never” be injected into her — said people were “questioning” the shots’ effectiveness, Mr Trump interrupted her to defend the jabs developed with funding from his administration under “Operation Warp Speed”.

I still think that Trump is trying, at least in part, to smoke out the NeverTrumpers who fake supporting him.
Regardless, it’s definitely having that effect.
“ Looks like she’s tossing Trump under the bus. ”
Nope, Trump jumped in front of the bus on his own. He just lost the 24 nomination and cleared the way for DeSantis. No doubt he is continuing to make the same mistake he made over and over during his presidency by listening to the wrong people.
Just wondering if you would share what the opinion of your dr friend is about the vax. Thanks.
Wrong. DeSantis has definitely distinguished himself on the matter. As an example…
Ron DeSantis Goes All In on Vaccine Skepticism
https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/10/ron-desantis-goes-all-in-on-vaccine-skepticism.html
F Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been trying to walk the same line with the anti-vaccine movement that he has with Donald Trump. He recognizes an important constituency within his party that alienates a majority of the public and has tried to draw its energy behind him without tying himself to it so publicly that he poisons his political viability.
The trick has allowed DeSantis to win over rabid Trump cultist anti-vaxxers even as pro-vaccine conservatives insist Desantis is on their side. National Review’s Dan McLaughlin describes DeSantis as “a vocal proponent of the COVID vaccines” who merely has a principled belief “that adults are free to make their own choices and take the consequences.” His colleague Charles C.W. Cooke sarcastically refers to “that noted anti-vaccination extremist, Ron DeSantis.”
After months of carefully walking this balance beam, DeSantis has fallen off. He has thrown in fully with the anti-vaxxers, and whatever thin plausible deniability he tried to maintain is gone.
You can see DeSantis’s progression from anti-anti-anti-vaxxer to simple anti-vaxxer by observing the increasingly strident tone and content of his stances. DeSantis has…

Trump Takes Personal Credit For COVID-19 Vaccines In Interview With Candace Owens
“I came up with three vaccines — all are very, very good,” Trump told Owens on Wednesday. “The vaccine worked, but some people aren’t taking it. The ones that get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don’t take their vaccine.”
“But it’s still their choice,” he continued. “If you take the vaccine, you’re protected. But the results of the vaccine are very good, and if you do get it, it’s a very minor form. People aren’t dying when they take the vaccine.”
Yeah, I know it's Huff Post. But I assume it's an accurate quote.
Trump has a huge ego. Sometimes that benefits him. At times it helps him ignore conventional wisdom. But in this case, his ego is wrapped up with the vaccine, so he can't very well condemn the vax.
I would vote for her also. But I will vote for Trump because what he is actually saying is that whether one takes the vaccine or not should be an individual choice, not a mandate. I took the vaccines as well, because I am closer to Trump’s age, but also have several co-morbid conditions. I do not trust the Government, but have made my choice based on my Doctor’s recommendation and my own feeling about MY health. The left loves to find ‘wedge’ issues to try to separate Conservatives. Hopefully most of us will see through this. Trump advocates personal freedom to choose, which I support.
I agree about Candace, she has a tendency to shoot her mouth off, ask questions later, maybe.
A few days ago, Candace got into an ugly Catfight on Twitter with Meghan McCain. Meghan gave a rare compliment to Donald Trump for expressing the importance of the Vax.
She teased Candace that it must be tough to hear that your “Golden God” says you are wrong not to get vaxed. Candace pushed back with a rude and profane tweet, basically calling Meg “Obese”.
Owens is still sort of young, maybe she will develop greater self control over time. Candace still has a lot to offer in getting the conservative message out there.
An absolute truism if there ever was one!
Time, work AND persistence.
We live in a world of lies and propaganda. It permeates everything. Sorting out useful and reliable info from the chaff is a never ending task. Most people don’t want to devote the time and energy to do it. Just saying.
So is DeSantis now a Never Trumper too, in your mind? Must be, if vaccine caution is the lens you want to judge everyone through.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Refuses To Say Whether He’ll Get A Covid Vaccine Booster
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) won’t say whether he plans to get his second dose once he becomes eligible, following public statements in which he questioned the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines.
DeSantis received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in April, shortly after he became eligible for a shot, but since then, DeSantis has significantly softened his tone in support of vaccinations, sometimes to the point of outright skepticism.
He hitched his star to the vaccines which were in development at the time. He moved mountains to make Project Warpspeed successful…and it delivered far far faster than everyone else said was possible. Trump used his superhuman strength to make that happen.
Once you are that invested in something, it is almost impossible to say “my baby is ugly.”
Also, I believe the jury is still out on whether the baby is truly ugly. Right now, the beauty and ugliness are in the eyes of the beholder.
Exaggerate much?? Sheesh!
Trump came up with the term Fake News, so I don’t believe he even watches the MMS.
Something is fishy about this story
re: “The name Fauci means the sickle. He certainly is living up to it. A real living Cronus if there ever was one.”
From a long (family) line of sickles, no doubt ...
“Owens is still sort of young, maybe she will develop greater self control over time. Candace still has a lot to offer in getting the conservative message out there.”
Let’s hope so. I don’t think it’s a great idea to try to build consensus about the vaccine, especially to get someone in a position of high responsibility to agree with a radical viewpoint. I mean, I agree with her about the vaccinations, right? They’re evil! (Not all vaccinations, of course, but just the ones currently under discussion.) I agree with her totally.
But trying to nudge someone like the President (I can’t stop calling him the president!) into agreement on something the average citizen thinks is radical is unprofessional. Think before you speak.
He banned bumpstocks, initiated lockdowns and mask mandates along w travel restrictions in America. . Not a Constitutionalist. Not even close. A centrist a best.
“So is DeSantis now a Never Trumper too, in your mind?”
Nope, since I don’t see DeSantis attacking Trump over his stance.

I think the vaccine was once effective but once the Xiden coup happened it was tampered with. When they first released it, it was never intended to have a vaccine. It was suppose to get Trump out of office and reduce the population but Trump amazingly got the vaccine made before the coup happened.
